I Need Some Help With My New Project

    Hi,

I'd like to start a piad CMS service ... Something like this : sitebuilder.trafficmedia.com/ResellerPackage.aspx

This is what I want to achieve in my project:

    * The user can create his own site (sub-domain at first) - Like with WP.

    * Then he can use his own regular domain to point into my server or IP ... ( To see his site with his own domain )

    * I need to set limits to each site ... Limit of disk size , in bandwidth .

    * I want all the process to be made by the users ... Without me opening each account in the cPanel and set limits .

    MY QUESTION :

1 ) In order to achieve everything above I can use a reseller package or I need to have my own servers ?

2 ) How do I let the user point into my IP address and display his content ?

3 ) How do I set the limits of disk space and bandwidth ?

    Regards.

Why dont you look into purchasing a tool that already does it - i.e WHM / cpanel will do this out of the box but license fee's can be quite big

    Hi lukeg32....

I'm not looking to build hosting company ... I want to build a paid CMS ... Something like WP where users can open their own subdomains ... And after that they can buy their own domain and make redirect.

Or maybe I just didn't understood how WHM can help me ???

    Regards.

What your asking seems a little more advanced judging by how you responded and wrote your first post.

Perhaps you would be better of paying someone who knows what they are doing to set this up for you.

You'd need your own dns server setup and incorporate that with your site so that new domains are added and pointed to the correct site, somehow automating that. Not to mention, there's still a bit of work to be done setting up wordpress for multiple users and automatically create the database structure for each user, but I think it can be done with a single set of wordpress installation files so you don't add a bunch of unneeded redundant files to your server. Also, be sure to lock down wordpress! Don't want users installing things that could compromise your server.

    Hi Brad

    Thank you for your post...

I know that I still got a lot to learn on hosting stuff... And I will pay some one to do so ... I wanted to know if is possible to achieve that with a VPS or some other solution.

Regarding the WP ... It was just an example I'm planning to create CMS with my own ideas ( I'll give that to programmers to do ... ) ... I already have some good ideas ( I think :) )

    Hello,

I have my own http://www.phpcms.in that I have created.

I think you can hire a domain and do the same way
