I cannot think of anything more boring than reading some 50 page salesman pitch rubbish about why their product is the one you should buy with all the silly overused tactics. If you really need to put so much effort into convincing someone to buy then maybe you don't have much faith in your product? After all isn't it always the best quality products that practically sell themselves? Anyone know why they work?
Sure I know Because that sales copy gives every customer the exact information they're looking for and moreover nudging them to buy the product.. Lets say you've lost your soul mate and desperately looking to get her/him back... I bet you won't find that sales page that boring anymore.. since that page pop-ups on your screen and gives you a solution to your "MAIN" problem... Al.
If you're bored with sales pages, you've probably read a lot of them. Not everyone has. Psychologically, they do work when they're done right. If they didn't, there wouldn't be so many of them!
Yeah, You get bored because those sales page and the wording is sucks, isn't? The ones that work is come with the one bottom line - They do not suck. Why don't you take a look at quality sales page instead of those boring horse shit? Isn't a waste of time? You may take a look at Joel Comm sales page or any marketing Guru you ever heard. Those pages are really convince and can made a ton of sales daily. Look at it and compare them yourself. You should see a different pattern and blow out your mind somehow.
People generally are emotional buyers. They primarily buy because the product owner or service provider is able to connect with them on some sort of emotive level. Sales copy works because a good copywriter knows that sharing a story or an experience similar to the reader's can push those emotional buttons (the more relatable the better), thereby leading the reader to take the action called for. And a good story takes time to build - this is one of the reason for the long copy. Besides, there's the "trust factor." The writer is also trying to build trust. You can have the greatest product in the world, but if the buyer doesn't know you or your product, you're going to need to get them to believe why your product/service is the best solution for them above your competition. I'm noticing more and more that video is being used in sales copy to, no doubt, give those who don't want to read long copy (or who get easily distracted), an option. I'm also seeing video only sales pages with no written copy and with just the "add to cart" button below the video.
Sales copies do provide not only the details promoting these "expert" products but also the whole value of that market itself. That way, those landing in those pages will be highly interested to get a feel of that product while reading the details. Thus, a sales copy shouldn't be too long nor too short but it has to give the complete and direct information for the readers to easily decode what you're offering them.
