I have been normal use, suddenly one day, all the accounts have been suspended, they sent an email to me, reads as follows: ============================================ The reason your account is suspended because your Starter reseller account comes with 20GB bandwidth per month. Last month the bandwidth usage on your account was 81GB, which we ignored considering it was the first time you exceeded the bandwidth. However this month again your account has already used 65GB bandwidth. We will need you to upgrade your account to Advanced reseller plan that gives 100GB bandwidth. The cost is $131.89/year and there is unused amount of $7 from previous payment of starter plan. Please send payment of $124.89 USD to our paypal account sales@247-host.com and we will activate the account immediately and upgrade it. =================================== Liar, this is a new site, less than 100 visits a day, how would there be 81GB,Now, I do not want to use their services, I have to get back my site files and email, but they do not give,They said, do not pay, I did not get my files,How can i do?
I think there is no way except of paying them, unless and until you have a backup of it. You can also upgrade to a monthly pack of that package and take the file and then leave that host.
Well, that's good. And now you will know that always you have to choose a professional and good host, to avoid such problems.
Prove them you wouldn't have used that much bandwidth. have you checked the stats on cpanel about bandwidth usage?
This is why you always host at a professional host and not some cheapo dude having a server in his mom's basement. Also, why don't you keep an offline backup of your site? You always need to do that. Sue them? Over $100??? Come on, it's easily going to cost you more than that in time spent, anger and frustration trying to argue the case and you are likely to have a 50/50 shot at best. And it's possible that you could have used up that amount of bandwidth, especially if it's a new site and you didn't activate anti hotlinking, someone may have used your images and if you offer files for download and it will quite quickly run up your bandwidth. 20 Gb seems a little low anyways, what did you pay for that plan?
My advise for you is paid them the amount, then change to other host. Let me know if you need my help.
1. If you do not want to pay them, there is only a way to do - prove them by all evidence and witness by all means that your website cannot use such a huge bandwidth like that with only 100 UV daily. Please check your site carefully first (if you can) to see there is not some malware infection. I had learned a hard lesson about this two years ago by using old script and some hacker had hacked and inject iframe malware into my files, thus use my sending.php to send out spam emails. It was consumed a huge bandwidth I am not aware of until got notification from my hosting about some suspicious activity from my website. Howver, even you can proven that not mean you could get your account back without paying actually. It is not a guaranteed anyway. 2. If you do not have enough evidence to prove with them, and your file has value more than $124.89 then I would recommend you pay them to get your files back and switch the host later. It will not worth to go and sue them just for $124.89, especially when you have to hire some lawyer to fight them back through court system. I think only one hour consultant fees with lawyer is over $124.89 that far of course. It's up to you buddy. I would like to help you more but I have see no other ways except the two I mentioned above. God bless and good luck.
Hope nothing you can do with them! Else ask them that you're in shortage of money and will pay within a day and get your FTP Details and move them asap!
