Hello there! I'm a copywriter and recently I have been offered a contract to write the copy for several AdWord ads. The problem is that my experience in this domain is all but nonexistent. So here is my question for you. What are the current rates in the business for writing such an ad? And the second one. Where can I find some online resources about the specifics of this type of copywriting? Thank you in advance. Best regards, George
Thank you for your prompt response, however I doubt that google resources would be of any help. I know the technical constraints associated with this type of ad, what am I looking for are ways of increasing the CTR and also to find out the rates charged by copywriters in this domain. Regards, George
You have to balance 2 things when writing the ads... You want to write ads that only bring in converting traffic, but at the same time you want to write ads that'll attract clicks. The higher your CTR the cheaper the clicks, but a high CTR doesn't necessarily mean a higher ROI - finding the balance between both is the fun part Regarding the prices - charge what you believe is fair, you can research for hours and charge them for your time or just spend a few minutes writing as you usually would. You can always tweak afterwards and it's the data that you're going to collect over time that's valuable and will give you a better idea of what to write.
I will second EVERY WORD of Art's comment above... Also there is a software (not mine) that has thousdands of Ad examples... if you want i can refer you (PM me). Also be careful that you don't only need to write a good Ad copy... you also need to have a close look on the cost per click... After the last Adwords update in July... it is becoming little harde to pay them the same old $0.03 or $0.05 per click Tim
