Finally sold my first site

Hey there,

I've been around for a while trying to learn different tactics and believe me i've tried it all PPC, email, gateways, CPA, ClickBank and the list goes on and on... Sadly I never made any money on any of this and I'm brave enough to say that I even lost money with PPC.

However as everyone else always says just never give up so I didn't until I found something I was good at. I've been coding for around 12 years now but I was blinded by all the marketing talk here that I thought that was my thing. Due to the fact that I kept on failing miserably at all the marketing stuff I was learning here I decided instead to make one good website with a lot of good features and services that will help it grow... and what do you know the site grew and it got sold in the high $X,XXX range.


In the end I just want to say hang on... not everyone is good at everything you have to find your thing. I've got a friend here on DP who went through the same thing and in the end ended up setting up his own virtual assistant company and is making a very good living off that and I've got another site that I built not so long ago and also put a lot of work into it, which I'm aiming to sell in the low $XX,XXX range by late summer this year.


Anyhow sorry for the long and dramatic post but DP'ers just keep on.

Lovely ! I've been trying to design my own website lately, but I just keep on failing, everything is just like a differant language...lol

 

congratulations on your first success, It seems that you have finally found your niche. Now that you have the tools you can build an army of such sites!

Set the bar high, its worth the jump!

All I can tell you is keep on.. Have you tried all type of affiliate marketing techniques? Some guys make a killing with article marketing which I was lousy at but the concept of it seems is so easy.

Have you tried making money other ways? Remember affiliate marketers need stuff and you might be able to supply them with their needs and make a killer living off that.

Wow congrats! I think you are totally right that you should stick with one idea and make it successful before you make multiple sites that are just bringing you down. Very inspiring

Wow congrats dude! I am just wondering why did you sell it? have you tried putting some ads on it? Maybe you could earn more by keeping the site
