Hey everyone, I'm looking to find an explanation for this recent problem. I was ranked 5th on google for a certain search term. Upon creating a few articles and submitting them in order to create backlinks to my site and also leaving a few blog comments , i've dropped to 4th page of google. Why would I drop instead of climbing? Should I just delete every article and link that I've created in order to get my standing back? Thanks.
I find it weird too but it may probably a Google dance.. How bout the articles that you submitted? Is it free plagiarism? Keep on building backlinks for your site... Make sure it's quality backlinks you're looking for.. It will get better soon..
that could be a new update of your site as you have built new links to it. you have to wait a bit to see the final result. btw, I too see extreme unstable results with google for some of my sites.
or maybe you linked in one of the bad neighborhoods? But if that's the case, then your rankings should be much lower. croxxknight is rignt. it's probably a Google dance.
You know, I think it's kinda random how Google does the rankings. If you drop in rankings yet have been putting in honest work, then rest assured you'll jump back up. real life example: I ranked 120. Over the week I went to 115, 112, 109, 107. Then I went up to 150!!! Out of nowhere. The week after I went up to 73. Keep in mind I was building the same kind of links and the same amount every day. consistency is key!
Me too! My sites was listed on 1st page, but after google update, it fell to 6th page.I have checked my sites, and found it was not be penalized. Just google dance? And how long the dance last??
Thanks for the comments, and yeah I don't think I like this google dance you all talk about lol. I had dropped to 4th page and then 7th, now back onto the 2nd. Pretty weird how it works. I guess if we all knew the magic #1 formula we'd all be there right? !
If your site is brand new and it suddenly starts ranking well, then Google will put you in a temporary category deemed "the sandbox". You wont do well in the SERPS while your in sandbox, which usually lasts around 2 months. After that you should be ranking well again. Make sure to continue to build links while in the sandbox.
Give the site time it will most likely come back or higher. Did you use anchor text for the phrase your trying to rank for?
Hi! Yes this probably happens sometimes, just make sure that you are submitting articles to those with high PR social bookmarking sites and directories out there.I suggest not to submit articles containing with zero pr..And also don't forget to insert your link on forum and blog commenting task.Just continue on what you are doing and wait for the final result ,it usually takes a long time GUD LOCK!
Probably your competitors are generating more links, or new competitor is gaining the newbie effect for a day or two. Usually new content can gain the top position just for a couple of hours or a day. After that, they will drop out of sight.
