My background is in business so I'm not qualified to assess the applicants skills and I would like to get some opinions outside outside of those of the existing CTO. The resume is summarized below. yes...there were company names for old roles without dates of service. , regardless i removed the names as well.... Any have any actual comments? Im not looking for a recommendation or not i simply want to know if there are some obvious gaps in the experience and qualifications to create a site with ebay like features? based on above - where would this person need help? (ignoring man hour constraints)
Seems like they are trying to "fluff" the resume... for example: • Agile Development [good] • AJAX • ASP.NET [.NET/C#Generics/IIS/MS Patterns and Pratices/SSL/VS 2008 should all be in one] • C# • COM / DLL [This is a good one if they need COM development... as in old school integration and interoping] • CSS • Database Administration • HTML / DHTML [JS/CSS/XML should be bundled in this one] • Generics • IIS • JavaScript • MS Patterns & Practices • SSL • Stored Procedures [SQL Server/Stored Procs should be bundled in this one] • SQL Server • TCP / IP [What does this mean? that they built pure TCP/IP communication apps?] • Visual Studio 2008 • Web Graphics • Web Client Software Factory [Just a class in .NET] • XML I would ask what kind of testing they like to use, Unit Testing? N-Unit? What system tests do they normally setup? Fully Automoated Scenarios? Also, if they setup for continual integration builds - as in do they know how to setup build servers, and how they are in the build world? Deployment - what tactics are they good with. An ebay-like site will require a large develoopment team including a dedicated DBA, and a QA team.
