I just bumped an old but closed thread of mine... and as feared it did not list itself on top of the section. Instead I see it topping the closed thread list! Regards, RightMan
Was the thread marked as sold or Auto-closed after the sale ended? In these cases it would just grey out and not get bumped. Closed threads with no ending date would get bumped I think.
Thanks! Was waiting since a long time... Shawn is doing great upgrades..... I can see Articles, Directory, Blogs and much more.... Overall GREAT! Thanks Again....
Yohoo.. thanks for this awesome new feature.. Though, once a month.. umm.. I better use this wisely Now off to check what I can 'bump'.
Thanks for the feature Shawn. I know you may have got thousands of requests for such a thing. I also requested such a feature sometime ago. Glad to see it! I am gonna get the premium membership very soon.
I just want to point out that using the bump option does NOT mean you can make new posts like: "this offer is still available". That is still an infraction bump, independent from the legitimate bumping option and we will still issue the infractions, whether the thread is 3-days old or three years old. What this means for those who are uncomfortable with big words is that you don't get to start posting new stuff in your thread because you "legally" bumped it. Your thread is still subject to the rules of the forum. If you are offering something different and absolutely have to make a new post, create a new thread instead of bumping your old one. If it's a new product/service, then we won't consider it a duplicate thread. So please, no: "thanks for your positive review" "I now accept Paypal" "I'm accepting more orders" "now giving a free glossy picture of David Hasselhoff for every German who buys my ebook"
Ass licker! You yourself came up with something similar to this idea. (let people bump once a day or once in x number of days)
Well it was planned for a long time, it's just a little tricky to put into practice because you are messing with how threads sort and you need to make a few changes to the core database structure so that sorting differently doesn't turn the DB servers into poop.
