Please appraise Airborne.tv

    Hello there,

Me and my friend recently bought Airborne.tv. Automatic appraisal systems indicate that this domain is worth something at least (sedo for example gives price range 2000-3000$) but I would like to hear your opinions.

    Thanks! :)

NEVER listen to auto appraisers, they are 99% of the time wrong.

    Airborne (1993): http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106233/

It doesn't show too much popularity to that movie.

    I'd think low - mid $xx (on Sedo/Flippa)

    Thanks for your opinion. :)

Yeah I know they're pretty much worthless so I wanted to know some real opinions if there's any chance that this might sell anywhere near that price range.

The .TV extension doesn't seem to be very popular. Airborne (be it a show or not) isn't the most searched keyword(s) out there. That being said, I say low to mid $XX to the right buyer.

Actually dotTV is very popular now. I read that dotTV is now more popular than dotOrg and dotNet put together. Sedo also sells dottv's at very good prices.

I just checked. Right now Sedo's "10 recent sale list" shows this.

    coupon dot tv 2,049 USD
    christmas dot tv 32,000 USD
    business dot tv 100,999 USD
    shows dot tv 20,500 USD
    show dot tv 7,870 USD
    shops dot tv 5,100 USD
    learn dot tv 41,000 USD
    vacation dot tv 14,000 USD
    hits dot tv 4,255 USD
    photo dot tv 2,383 USD

Nothing but dotTV's. What you say about that?
It is coming very big extension and keeps rising.

Hhm... very interesting. In that case, the single word generic .TV's are doing well. It makes sense, it's less restricting than a .ORG, for example. I'm still going to stick with my appraisal for "Airborne", seeing as it's not a highly popular keyword, but I guess .TV's may be slightly more popular that I had originally guessed.

.TV is still picking up momentum since TV studios/networks are using them more often. It's tough to appraise - I'm sure you can find someone willing to spend $2-3k on that. The first thing that popped into mind: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airborne_Division

    Pilot's dream domain name.

Get a good video camera and start filming airplanes.

Auto appraisal sites are all pieces of crap, only for novelty purposes.

As to the name, I wouldn't value it more than reg fee. Thought you might get up to Mid $xx from the right buyer.
    Thanks! :)
