Yahoo Site Explorer. You can find the number of pages, and the inlinks for a specific URL (Site or Page). Then you can filter the results to see only those links that do not come from the same domain. Great tool!

I though google link only gave a sample of links. Yahoo links will give all the links. Use SEO for firefox or SEO doctor firefox plug in

    Hi ibrahimheri,

Yes, I use Yahoo's Site Explorer or if you're at Yahoo's regular search bar just type in the linkdomain: operator such as linkdomain:reviewtruthaboutabs.info and then you'll get all the links shown as it transfers you to Yahoo's Site Explorer.

    Thanks

Have you tried SeoQuake a free plugin for FireFox? Tells you that and a whole lot more about your competitors.

Yahoo Site Explorer. It shows a far more comprehensive view of your backlinks than Google does. You could use Majestic SEO too.

Site explore and SEO quake are the way to go. You can also export backlinks into an excel document through the CSV export

I think most of the responders here misunderstand the original poster's question -- or is it me who is misunderstanding? If you want to check backlings say, from site1.com to site2.com, Yahoo and other similar tools may or may not help you. First of all, they don't show you all backlinks. Second, if there are a lot of backlinks, it may take you forever to to find the site that you want to verify is linking to your site.

Someone suggests: "just Google the link." It is not a bad suggestion. However, if the link uses anchor text instead of the plain URL, you may have some difficulty finding it on the page.

There is a better way. Download the Xenu link checker: http://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html#Download It is free. (I am not affiliated with Xenu, so this is not spam.)

The purpose of Xenu is to check all the links on a website and to find broken links. But you can use it for other things as well. Run a link analysis on the linking site, then sort the links alphabetically by URL to find the link you are looking for (it it's there).

But in general, if you have a linking arrangement with a site, they should provide you with the URL of the linking page!

    Phillip SEO,
I know what you are saying. There are two types of back links (one is a reciprocal link where site 1 and site 2 have links pointing to each other -- the other is a one-way-back link in which a site or directory from site 2 links to site 1 because the content is great or it is a directory/forum). The one-way back links are the best links to have since they don't eat up what is called "link juice". One-way back links are a direct vote on the popularity of your site without having to reciprocate the link.

Any method you use to do your due diligence in researching competition and/or checking up on your keyword anchor text is worthwhile doing. Yahoo site explorer is a viable tool for seeing what "Yahoo" is listing as directly pointing to your site. The initial list that shows up when you enter a URL to explore contains all the links from the domain as well as external "one-way or reciprocal links". You can then filter this list to show only external back links NOT in that domain. A quick way to check out your competition for your keyword anchor text is to look at the top 3 sites on Yahoo Explorer and attempt to get more one-way back links than the top 3.

Granted, there are many other methods and tools out there and as many as one can use the better. One may get lucky enough to find a tool that will handle every linking/ranking situation, but using a combination of the free ones will allow you to at least move forward somewhat without affecting your funds.

    No, because
-- this is not at all "EXACTLY what" the original poster needs
-- BacklinkReporter does not check "all" your links
-- BacklinkReporter is a bullshit tool that requires you to link to their site

Don't waste your time with it.

By far the best backlink analysis tool is the new SEOmoz Open Site Explorer (http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/). It is brand new, but I think it will replace all the other backlink tools out there, whether free or paid. Spend a little time learning and understanding it, and you will be rewarded.

To check the outbound links of any site, use Xenu.
