    hey shawn,

just wondering if it'd be possible to remove sold domains from the sale thread in the future.

i have come across many resellers (and end users!) who hesitate to buy domains if the purchase can be easily tracked by doing a simple search on Google.

would it not be a good idea if the domain name could be "removed" (thread editing or something) from the thread following an eventual sale?

i believe this would encourage more people to buy domains from here.

    cheers!

    alistair

The intent of this forum isn't to encourage subversive "underground" business, and we are not going to cover up business transactions because one of the parties has apprehensions about a public transaction. And we are not going to remove threads or website names because of whom it is associated with or because it became indexed in a search engine.

Then why is the option of "Private bidding" provided?

Private business and "cover ups" are unrelated. It is not our mandate to erase the tracks of someone else's business.

If people do not want the domain listed in Google, they can list the domain within their auction with the [obf] BBCode.

My suggestion wasnt intended to encourage "underground" business...I believe forums are meant to encourage freedom as well as confidentiality...and which is why pming exists too. :)

Good to know, Shawn. I sincerely believe many would use it if they knew :)
