http://www.fifa07.us/theoretical_pr_table.html I found it somewhere that I don't remember right now. It seems possible but still that's just a theory, because even though Microsoft spends 150.000.000$ for solving PR technology every year, they couldn't accomplish it yet. I wanna hear your comments about this table.
Well, I didn't say it was %100 sure and already it can't be totally true or something anyway But it should be near to the right algorithm I guess..
It doesn't take into account the number of links on the linking page, and this is a factor when calculating PR.
Breaking News Microsoft spends 150.000.000$ for solving PR technology every year From where did you extracted this figure.
I read it last year in an article. I will put the link here If I can find. Because of they can't solve the logic of PR, MSN and Yahoo can't give the best performance yet.
kindly post that article link if you are able to find it as it will be very interesting if it is actually so.
I found a similar table at another site and posted it here some time back PageRank Calculation Chart I think the table gives very realistic results, but it assumes that the sites original PR is 0, and average number of links on the page are 50. Which is a false assumption. The results of course cannot be accurate, but can surely be close to expected.
This is definitely a fiction. Anybody can compute their future PR. If a site with PR6 is linking to you then you will get PR6, PR5 or PR4 if you're not lucky enough.
it's definately interesting, but I'm sure that they use other elements to find out the PR other than backlinks
oh and btw - I also heard that Google speands like 80% of their income or something on developing better search etc, so I don't think that figure is completely exaggerated
Sure it is rubbish but for a simplification it is OK. One of the oversimplifications, PR is not a discrete scale i.e. not all PR7's are equal. There is a huge difference between a weak PR7 and a strong PR7, a strong PR7 alone can create lots of additional PR7 pages. hope that makes sense. Eric
