    Hi,

Lately i am working at http://tinyurl.com/y7zem4t to improve my visitors, SERP and PR. The problem is that i can't reach top 3 or even top 5 at the keyword(s) i want to.

    Keyword: wow screenshot (wow screenshots*)
    - Its in the domain url.
    - Its in the title.
    - Its in the content.
    - Busy with getting more and more backlinks with that anchor text.

    * = it will be harder to rank on that keyword because its not in my domain, etc.

What can i do to have any chance against websites like worldofwarcraft and wow-europe .com?

It will take some time because there are so many other sites using those keywords. But from what I checked the ones on the first page don't have very high pr. Write a lot of articles, Start a couple of blogs and make a bunch of posts. Create a squidoo lens and a hub page. Social book mark all of these.

If you have a new site, its always going to be harder to compete against more established sites on the same keyword. I took a quick look at your site, and I think you should put some more time into on page SEO. For example, you have a whole paragraph as a H1 tag. You should make the H1 tag short, sort of like a title. Include your keywords in there. There is not a whole lot of content on the main page, so maybe increasing content as well could help, possibly adding an H2 as well.

Then it really comes down to backlinks. Focus on quality backlinks using your keywords as anchors. Use different variations. You don't want all your anchors to be the same as Google can see this as unnatural. It will take time, but with quality links with your keywords, you will start climbing.

On a possibly unrealted note to your problem, but dealing with the Wolrd of Warcraft niche, I have seen some drastic changes in the last week. This is possibly due to the Caffeine update. Now, this is entierly speculation on my part based on observations, but I have sites in the Wow niche and I watch SERPs fairly closely. It appears that Google now has de-valued World of Warcraft as a whole. What do I mean by this? One of my sites promotes a guide from Joana, a famous Horde WoW player. Before this last update, when you searched on Joana, most of the top 50 results all pertained to Warcraft. Now, the number one site is WoW related, but most results now are not WoW related. I have seen this for other keywords such as Horde. I am hoping this is temporary. But it may be a change in Googles eyes to perhaps devalue these sites, or at least remove a boost they were getting before. This may be temporary, I am hoping, but who knows.

Thanks for your reply Indy001, i will take a look at my headings and try to add some extra content overall. I am already working on backlinks with different anchors every day so that should be fine.

It needs time to compete with established sites. You need to get more quality links like those from relevant authority sites with your keywords in the anchor text. You need to make sure that your keywords are properly positioned. If you have headings for your content, it is advisable to have keywords in the H tags.
