I have seen them on lots of Real Estate sites. Basically you are presented with a room of the house and by moving the mouse you can look anywhere you want (From a stationary position). I have no idea how this is done. I want to give a tour of my house to show relatives and would love to do it room by room like that. Is there a technique for creating it or some type of software? Any links or info would be appreciated!
You mean like the ones on here. You need software that will merge a group of photos to show as one continued photo, ivr software. Then the photo would be placed on a player like flash or quicktime. Check this site out for the ivr software, not 100% if thats exactly what you need. http://www.highpix.co.uk/index360.html
That is exactly what I am looking for, although it looks to be super expensive (I see they come out with a special camera). Perhaps I may need to hire someone to do it manually with regular photos or perhaps there is software that doesn't require a special camera If anyone has any software thats less then $200, or has the software and wants a little work, let me know. (Thanks as always turf!)
I found one for $40 http://www.ulead.com/cool360/features.htm It has a free trial so I am going to give it a go. I hope I don't spend 2 hours only to find it isn't waht I need lol
Google "virtual tour software" and you should be able to get an off the shelf solution for the price you want.
As far as I see you dont need a special camera. Here is another site with more tools etc. http://360dof.com/panorama-photo-software/
If you have Photoshop you can use that to stitch images into a panorama. Look in the help file under "Photomerge".
It is actually the 360 degree look that I am after (so technically I shouldn't have reffered to it as a panorama) The software I downloaded is pretty cool so far. I haven't had time to fully test it but with the few pics I gave it it automatically overlapped them seamlessly within 1-2 seconds. Cheers
Ulead cool360 is one of the best. You should try it. I wish I could include some affiliate link here, but unfortunately I don't have one. Regards, Jack.
