How to get Top 3 Position in Google with highly competetive keywords?

Can any SEO Guru tell me how to get top 3 position in Google with highly competitive keywords.

Spend a long time creating a high quantity of great content, and then promote it. There is no easy route.

 

For some keywords you can expect many years of hard work and effort. Some are just unreachable with out a bottomless budget.

 

Start with long tail versions of the keyword - not everyone uses the keyword itself - use some adjectives surrounding keyword

 

It's certainly not easy, maybe start going after a less popular keyword or long tail keyword first.

My best suggestion is this: Find a domain based keyword for your niche, and you will be able to get it ranked in # 1 Google position within 2 Months.
