I like how it's done. Everyone knows what the background is for, without being direct. Very cool!

They still celebrate pagan holidays and such. Just not the good ole American days of imortance like 9-11, Christmas, Easter, etc.

    It's always been that way.

How is "Merry Christmas" not simple when "Happy New Years" is?

I want so badly to open up a can of debate on that comment, but since we're not in the proper section of the website I'll refrain.

Sorry for sort derailing the thread. Back on topic, good on those SE's for doing what is right in honoring the several thousand who fell that day!

Seriously, dumbest idea ever. We all remember 9/11, you dont have to rub it in our faces...

As for 9/11... yea it happend, ok... it's time to move on. The media makes too big a deal out of things. We all mourne the day - but please dont make everyone relive that day with the broadcasts, search engine displays, newspapers, mail etc...

Tell me, who is MAKING you do anything?

That's like walking into a McDonalds and saying "they're making me eat fattening foods".

He is not MAKING anyone do anything, but he is MAKING the users of his site view the annoying and un-needed ad/banner whatever it is before giving you search results. Very annoying in my opinion. Seems like you're too proud of being an American to mind it, eh?

Thanks for the rep bomb - tosser.

Then DON'T go there! It's your choice. Part of this whole "free internet" idea. Ever heard of it?

Dude, I'm quite sure the majority of their visitors greatly appreciated the extra mile they went in REMEMBERING that sad day. Don't try and take that from the rest of us just because YOU want to forget it.
