I go in to view my own site form time to time to see if there is anything I can add or change.. This will show up as PI's will I get penalty from google by this?? I never will click on my own site ads.. I'm just worried that it will come up as not a good thing later on..

You can block java execution from any given site with adblock.

Phillip: I run a community and I don't feel comfortable doing it without the adblock since I have to view 400+ pages a day. Using adblock keeps me from accidentally clicking on my own ads as well.

I do check a few things on my site from the internet explorer (java enabled) when I am switching ad positions or colors to see if everything is doing good.

It's not a problem. I wrote to G a few months back and asked them about that. They said it's OK to view your own pages. They just cautioned against clicking your own ads and reloading pages "excessively".

Your guess as to what "excessively" might be is as good as mine .

RatDog, It can be anything above the 10% of total impressions you receive in a given day. Lets say if you receive 1000 impressions & 100 of them are yours then you should probably (I said probably) be flagged as red at Google.

Why should Google care about your PI? The only way they lose money from it is if a Advertiser specifically targets your site as a site he wants to advertise on as opposed to keywords.

Unless... PI makes a difference in the amount you earn CPC! dum dum dum

How could they be? When I place a new ad or modify some old one, it may take many attempts before I am finally glad with the results. I'll have to refresh the page many times to see the changes I've made. However, fake PIs can spoil your CTR and eCPM in the stats, so it is recommended to avoid them if possible.

There is "NoScript" plugin for FF that can block javascript, which effectively removes all adsense ads.
