What do you guys think about windows 7? I just got a new computer last week and so far I like it. I'm still learning the new features but the latest I figured out last night was adding extra monitors. I added a second monitor yesterday and it was so easy and it's an awesome feature for me to be able to view many different things at a time.

So what do you all think about windows 7 and what new cool features do you like.

Windows 7 is a much improved compared to Vista. However, I would prefer for Windows XP more than Windows 7 since I have to use some old software which is incompatible with Windows 7 compatibility mode.

Windows 7 is perfect operating system: Ever since i installed it on my PC there are two things i notice significantly improved.

    1. System Stability: superb. No more tedious error or whatsoever. The system run smoothly and has better multi-tasking mode than XP. I use it only on 1GB RAM and 2.9Gz Intel processor with integrated graphic card. I love windows 7.
    2. Internet Speed Increase significantly: My XP download speed was at average 20Kbps/second for all torrent download even with the most seeders. Now i have like 150kbps and can download 700mb movie within hours.

I think windows 7 is ultimate. And anyway i am using Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. Other than the two everything else is just the same.

Ya, I skipped Vista and kept XP for a while until Windows 7 came out. So far all my softwares like dreamweaver, and photoshop and all have worked for me. Hopefully I don't run into that issue.
    Thanks for your reply.

What softwares can you not use?

Ya, I like it too. I'm using 64bit. It is pretty fast. Opens software fast and I can have a lot of different softwares running at the same time. My old PC would lock up if I have firefox, dreamweaver and photoshop all open at the same time. Now I got 2 monitors (about to go get a third) and it makes it so easy and a lot faster.
    Thanks for your post! =)

I've been using Windows 7 for a few months and have loved it! On my crappy old computer, it runs perfectly. Last night I booted into XP to play an old game and I have to admit, I hate XP now as it's very sluggish and less secure.

Ya, there is definitely a big difference there. I'm still hearing a lot of people say they like XP more though. Not me!

I just can't get enough from W7, and for older software that doesn't work with W7 I keep virtual machine with XP.

I jumped from XP to Win7. Never had any contact with Vista. I'm pretty happy with Win7. I had no problems of integrating my software programs from XP. Some things are way easier to handle now. Everything runs smoothly, no crashes. I wouldn't go back to XP.

Have you try running the old software in Compatibility mode before?

Win 7 is what Vista should have been. M$ released a product that was not done right. There was pressure to release it and so they did... Vista. It fell on its face because it was pushed out the door. The marketplace rejected it. Now M$ has finally done it right. But, they can't use the name Vista because Vista has such a negative image. So instead of Vista 2, they called it Win 7.

Win 7 is a very good product. I use it on an old machine with less than 1GB memory and it still performs well.
