I use Windows, Mac and Linux I think now a days you should be comfortable with all platforms because you never what you will run across.
Depends on your objective. I was ask by the client before if they can shift their OS into Ubuntu since there is no cost for the license. I said yes since they are only using word processors and spreadsheets. However, i advised them that they should hire an additional IT staff since connecting the computers into a network is no laughing matter. Secondly, know what aaps that you will be running. Some apps does not run on Ubuntu. For ease of use, I would suggest Windows (I grew up using Windows). If you have more time and learning curve is not an issue...Linux is a way to go.
I feel comfortable in using Windows OS. I also use Redhat Linux, but i like Windows coz of it's user friendly interface....
if u don't like geek stuffs like manually configuring your system's hardwares, device drivers, etc.. don't use Linux. For Linux, you won't find drivers for the some hardwares eg. your Nokia phones. Mobile phone manufacturers provide PC suite only for Linux and it is hard to find such drivers easily. However, if you are interested in the troubles of being a geek, go ahead and start using linux. you will be able to do stuffs that aren't possible in Windows..
i will also prefer the microsoft because people are not so much aware of the linux but know about the microsoft...
I would go with the linux OS as this Os is easy to use as well as it is open source and most importantly it is virus free if you are using the Windows system then you may need a anti virus to save your system but the linux by it self has the capability to save the system from the virus as well as from the security point of view too the Linux OS is mush secure
I tried Linux for a while. It's ok but, after using Windows OS's for so many years, I just couldnt adjust and ended up using Vista and Win 7 again .
