what kind of dog do you have

I have a full bred American Pit Bull dog. She's 6 months old right now, fairly obedient.. She knows simple commands (sit, come, lay..) I will soon be getting her to pull a weight sled when I'm out working at my shop. She should pack on quite a bit of muscle this winter. They are trying to outlaw them in my town right now though. Right now i'm trying to teach her to attack on command. Overall she's a gentle kind dog.

why would they want to outlaw such a gentle kind species?

if they do, would you be grandfathered?

I would hope I would grandfather in.. they are outlawing them because in Oklahoma dog fighting is a large issue and there are quite a few aggressive pit bulls in my area. Mine however, will be a protective agrressive dog won't be a fight dog. There hasn't been any attacks yet, but the other day a woman and child were chased by a local pit bull in my area.

perhaps the proposed law can be modified in such a way that only Dog Fighting gets outlawed and not Dog Ownership or training or whatever ... If for example something like human attacks by dogs happened then the owner should be accounted for .. not the dog .. the dog does not know what it's doing btw ... dang insanity plea even works for humans .. how much more for animals that dont have the intelligence of a man.

lucky for you guyz .. coz in one country i've been, they love dogs .. for eating .. whew atleast they got it outlawed. But still is a culture

dog fighting is outlawed, but they think outlawing the dog that dominates the sport will decrease illegal events even more. Yeah I agree any action a dog makes isn't for no reason. If they are put in a compromising situation they will respond. IE: a kid picking on it throwing rocks has a chance of bieng retalliated against.

I have a Labradoodle: half labrador, half poodle.

He's adorable, gentle, happy go lucky, and amazingly smart.

I've posted his picture on other forums before (I'm like a proud mom), but I thought I would post it on Digital Point as well :)

His name is Scooby, he's 2, and here he is taking a nap on my bed.

I have two Boston Terriers - Tobie is 11-years-old; Katie is 11 months old. I just love these dogs; they are very human in their behavior. I'll never have any other breed. There are no bad points whatsoever to the breed.

    I have an invisible dog.

He would do anything you tell him to, but you just cannot see him. :D

He looks quite a bit like my dog...

Jazzmin is an Irish Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier. She just turned 9, and still plays like a puppy.

I have a little Jack Russel Terrier. Over the years I have owned a beagle, two yorkies and now a Jack. The Jack Russell is extremely smart, well behaved and rowdy at the same time.

my roommate has a jack russel and it's pathetic. I have to pull his 5 inch tall jack russell off my pit bull most of the time. Of course i'm also training my pit control, I don't let it get "too" rough unless it is commanded to. Unfortanetly she is on a chain right now :( we have people laying cement in our back yard for a storage shed going up and I can't have her back there loose right now.
