Hi. I when I go to my forum url, I get this: IPB WARNING [2] mysql_connect(): Access denied for user '********'@'localhost' (using password: YES) (Line: 131 of /ips_kernel/class_db_mysql.php) There appears to be an error with the database. You can try to refresh the page by clicking here. Error Returned SQL error: Access denied for user '********'@'localhost' (using password: YES) SQL error code: Date: Monday 11th of September 2006 08:50:21 AM I ask my host why this happened, but they say there are no way to tell, but they can fix it for $15. Now, can anyone here tell me how to fix it myself ?
I did not touch anything, it was working perfectly, but now its not, all by itself. And my host says that they dont know how this happened.
For the third time : ) the host (hostgator) cannot tell why I get the error. maxsmuter, are you posting just to get more posts ???
I use cPanel, what I dont understand is that, how can the password be wrong without me changing anything ? The forum has worked well untill yesterday, then I tried to open it, then I got this message. But lets say the password has become wrong, where do I change the password ?
Well, something happened. Maybe your host did something. cPanel - MySQL Databases You won't see passwords there, but you can add a new username/password. Use form under "Current Users" to add a new user. Then you have to add that user to your database (you do that on the same page). After that, update "conf_global.php" file with your new username & password. Keep in mind that cPanel usually adds prefix to your database name & username so your username will probably look like this: accountName_usernameYouWant.
Im a bit late but I had the same trouble, Googled it, found you and set a new user and pass and voila !! It worked. Thanks guys !
