Looking for a yellow pages style business directory script...

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I am in the process of building a local, niche business directory website. I have the look of the site pretty much tied down, but I am struggling to find a free/cheap directory script. I know CSS and a little PHP, but really want something that is very customisable from a control panel.

Something like creadirectory would be great, but ideally something that will work on my linux hosting.

like creadirectory, it needs to have a rating system.

Maybe I am asking a lot...

    Thx

Not sure if esyndicat will do the job anyway. The businesses in my directory will be bricks and mortar rather than websites.

I definitely can relate. I've been driving myself silly trying to figure out which script is most suitable for my regional directory. There are certain points/features of one I like over the others and vice versa, plus keeping up with all of the new features each one adds!

    Good luck!

This is a pretty good one. http://www.globalissa.com/

There is a pro version and a Free version, or atleast there was or is, not sure. I have used the Free version before which worked great and has alot of features, that was a couple of years ago though.

Not sure who some of the people who have posted a review dealt with at edirectory but they have been very good from my perspective.

To prove this is a real review you can check out the end product we built on their system at hunterliving.com.au. I cutomised their site by using their design option and a custom development pack.

I am not a coder so the prospect of picking up one of the simple php scripts didn't excite me - so I went with e-directory and the site is live and operational - i wanted quite a few mods made so it has taken about 6 weeks in total - which is less than it has taken on earlier efforts when we were using custom developers.

I have been able to change the business model, implement annual pricing or fixed prices, remove sections, modify pricing, modify navigation.

Banner system is great and the admin is very easy to understand and use. bulk import works well and saves time.

Support has been very responsive from their team in brazil - I have a dedicated project manager and account manager who always respond to requests and enquiries. Everything goes through quality control before being released to me and they use an online RT changerequest system so communication is simple and approval for changes well controlled.

Let's face it - I could never have gotten anywhere near this level of functionality for under $2K which is what i have spent including the up front fee and the customisation pack.

I'm a happy camper when it come to this software.

i dont belive it that over 1400 software you are giving in 100, as you told that i already crack it, then you can demand 1300 or 1200, by the way, what is the payment procedure,

Check out the niche business directory script in my sig.

It includes ongoing scraping capabilities, so you don't need to do the grunt work of adding business listings yourself. Specify your niche and the script will populate it w/ businesses for you.
