Changes to Searches Still Rolling In and Out

I don't spend a tremendous amount of time worrying about what I cannot control and the changes to the G search pattern is one of them. That said it's been fascinating to watch. I've often wondered if G would eventually figure out a way to even out the traffic so that everyone gets a share and I wonder if longterm that's part of what we see. Wouldn't be a bad thing for many.

What is fascinating in this past several day period is that sites with no links at all, they're just canned sites created by agencies in our industry that produce boilerplate sites with the same generic text taken from an XML file are ranking higher than all the sites with human typed relevant descriptions etc. IE the sites that are duplicated 5,000 times...for some reason a few are taking a leading role right now. A few hours later they're gone again but it's pretty amazing to see.

I can only imagine how complex this has all become for Google. I can't fathom the degree of programming they are now managing. I guess in some ways I like the fact that the new site can do very well I'm just puzzled at what is in the formulas they use that place one out of 500 with identical content ahead. Weird!

I agree, we should not worry too much about things we cannot control.

One thing I noticed in the ranks, the first top pages are almost very solid, especially the older sites ranks, I think they are still trying to figure out how to rank the newer sites, who knows, lets just enjoy the moment and wait..

This is a pretty common for Google major update. I assume they are currently testing for the results based on user activities before judge the best results for each keyword / niche. It could take times not less than 2 weeks from now on until finished.
