SEO For a website developed in java

    Java App or just Java?
    Maybe .htaccess with Rewrite Rule?
    and META tags.

    If you making a site for seo point of view then your site should be in HTML or PHP language because both are search engine friendly language. But if we are taking about java then its not search engine friendly so it would be very difficult to rank a java website.

    But there is no any problem with Java. Many java sites getting good ranking Search engines.
    I Think you need to give most important in your off page strategies.

    You've definitely developed it in Java, not in JavaScript/AJAX? Is it a Java applet? If it's AJAXy stuff then it's not too hard to SEO, but if it's an actually Java applet that powers your site you're going to have problems. Firstly make sure there's lots of content on the homepage before the applet opens, and if possible I'd recommend you produce an HTML version of the site for users without Java installed...
