Shawn, I’m just curios who is Policing Police in your Forum? Where do we suppose to go if we see Mods who are acting inappropriately, abusing their power, engaging in favoritism, bluntly ignoring Forum Rules etc? In one of your posts you said: If you see someone breaking the rules, use the "Report Post" function. Good advice but… what if Mod ignores report and even worse than that punishes you for reporting because offender is on his/her Friends list? What should we do if we see violations instigated by people who suppose to enforce Forum Rules? Thanks for your time fastreplies
I have been wondering the same thing. The problem is if they showed what mod gave you an infraction that mod would be spammed with complaints and PM's. Also every idiot that got an infraction would immediately call for that mod's execution and 99% of the time wrongfully so. I think that a site with this many moderators should have one dedicated to the reviewing and moderation of all other mods, that's really the only way to do it. I would even go so far as to say you couldn't even ask for further review if your account was less than six months old or fewer than 100 posts, that way the spammers and scammers wouldn't even be able to question anything. Honestly this last week I am up to four infractions for ridiculous things, opinions and shit talking, but whatever that is their duty. I have been here for years and seen the way this board operates. If they (DP) just enforced perma bans and eliminated duplicate accounts other stuff like thread bumping and "Inappropriate / Disallowed Post" wouldn't even be an issue. I really want this site to be legit but the politics and moderators are completely out of their minds... Out of all the webmasters and site owners I know most of them have sworn this place off, and these are people doing 100k plus a year in online income. DP is catering to the WRONG people. The longer they wait to turn it around the more obsolete this forum becomes to anyone actually doing business. </rant>
do what others do, send a pm to all moderators. this way it cannot be ignored. yes, there are users here who will do that. now you got me curious. i appreciate the vote of confidence.
Are you saying I can report Mods by contacting Admins? If yes, then which means of communications can I use? Can I send PM for example? fastreplies
There are no admins....there's moderators, and there's Shawn. If you have an issue, use the report button. If you think that the forum is becoming a police state and you'll be fingered as a snitch, don't worry we already think that anyways. If you believe we're all crooked and self-serving, then complain to Shawn through his Twitter account. Personally, I won't deal with moderator issues; obvious they've already proven that they are responsible enough to do this thankless job.
The one that you gave me apparently broken. Every time I'm pushing it, nothing happens. Actually except for once when my own post disappeared. I'm not using twitter Yes, they are but... we all just Humans and sometimes we all make mistakes and form wrong judgments. I know that some days we all get sick and tired after hard day at work or simply have cold which impairs our abilities to function properly or just not in the mood to deal with the guys who are pushing Report Bell and as result get pissed off because we don't want to deal with "snitch" who has been bothering us in a middle of the ball game (how dare he/she make reports) I don't want my Mods doing thankless job, I want to thank them for the job they are doing regardless of their personal opinion about person who is making report but based on Rules we all equally obliged to follow. fastreplies
I saw that list before but now I'm confused about... what exactly you are trying to say? Can you translate for me your point in plain English? I will appreciate any help. Thank you in advance fastreplies
That is where you can find everyone that has anything to do with moderating or running this forum. If they aren't on that list, they have no ability tot do so.
You are welcome to say "we" all make mistakes and "we" are all human, because you are making a generalization, but when you say "we" form wrong judgements, you are implying that there is a flaw in our ability to make reasoned decisions, and frankly you're not qualified to make that statement for us. So kindly keep your comments about our fallability to yourself.
I hope you are not saying that never in your life you misjudged something. Couple days ago I was trying to open door by pushing it only to find that I need to pull by the handle to open it. Well, I afraid I have bad news for you: nobody’s perfect including you. Yah I know, keep it to yourself But if you believe that you’re infallible then, please share with us your secret. I wanna be just like you fastreplies
One of the best ways to lose a debate is to accept an implied statement as a given fact, and making the mistake of accepting any subsequent statements that reinforce the original implied statement. Your statement about my implied infallibility is flawed, and therefore I will disregard it and everything subsequent to it. Again, keep your opinions to yourself. One of the best ways to win a debate is to leave the other party with no opportunity to challenge or rebutt your statement. This is where I use my discretion, authority, (and judgement) to close this thread, as the matter of the original enquiry is answered satisfactorily, and further debate is unnecessary and unproductive.
Lately the forum is full of threads with complains about moderators , deleted threads and infractions. Somebody should police the police.
Could not have put it better my self I've been given infractions for no reason and have had threads deleted with no explanation why from the mod!
You're full of shit. I've reviewed your profile and you haven't had a single thread deleted in three years; and when you receive an infraction, you get an email notifying you of the post for which the infraction was given. In your case, your three infractions were for posting unnecessary information in threads, when we ask you to send your offers by private message.
