I want to populate my blog using google news rss feeds for few keywords. I also want to use adsense on my blog. Is it legal to place adsense on a website which is strictly based on content populated via 3rd party feeds. Also does it have any negative effects on SEO?
This kind of website you just described is a so called "MFA" or Made for Adsense site. This concept was used to be popular around 2-3 years ago but not for now. - Even it is "partial" against Google Adsense TOS but 100% of this kind of website would got banned so quick after it has been found out by Google staff. It is considered as "Very Low Quality Content" - It would give a lots of negative effect towards SEO. As I said, this concept was used to be popular a few years ago and now Google found the ways to handle it already. Your websites will be de-indexed completely then following with the banned later. This pattern is easily identical for Google anyway.
hmm Thanks for letting me know I had a shadow f doubt in my mind about such website but you have made it clear to me that such websites are of no good.
I guess this type of content population using the news feed is obviously not recommended. You may come in trouble by getting into the black books of google. So better check the FAQs of the adsense.
Better to write unique content yourself. Adsense don't allow such sites. Now a days adsense is more alert.
Hi Sxperm, While it's true that many MFAs used RSS feeds for content, that does not in itself mean that RSS feeds are "bad" content. It was more the way it was done, more AdSense than content, and 100s built at a time, all on one AdSense account. Plus, most MFAs used some sort of cloaking, redirecting, keyword stuffing, etc, etc. A site which uses RSS feeds is not necessarily doomed. RSS feeds can provide valuable and interesting content. An example might be rss directories such as http://www.5z5.com/Directory/Arts/Animation/ What about a site that summarizes todays international news with RSS feeds? Automatic ban? What about a site that summarizes celebrity news with RSS feeds? Automatic ban? I have several sites that use RSS feed items (driven by my own script), exclusively for their content and they are alive after 8 or 9 months online, with some PR. food for thought, Bompa
