Yes the development of Windows 8 is under progress they are soon gonna launch it . as windows 7 was leaked before only . so this time they will make it more secure while releasing i believe .
Microsoft is still a beast and still are a major player. I don't see any major changes in the foreseeable future. They still are a major player with lots of money to spend. Windows 8 or whatever they decide to call it, is probably already in development. Of course this is just my opinion ;p
Microsoft "invents or discovers" nothing. Little, if anything, on Windows was created internally by Microsoft.

Microsoft would give a go with Windows 8 without a doubt. They are at least found the best name for their Windows. That was the most brilliant they could do by change a name from Windows Vista --> Windows 7 instead of got those weird bugs fixed first. lol This could help them continue the series to "Windows 8" --> "Windows 9" and so on without a fuzz of "Vista in effect". However, the final version of their Windows may be "Windows 2012" lol
why yes ! of course why no anything is possible in this world there's won't be just win8 maybe even 9 , 10 or 11 !!!
Microsoft don't develop hardware. But I think that they will carry on developing OS's as they make so much money from them, even though people are starting to use different OS's more an more.
No it's not. It's a concept demo. Just like concept cars, you probably won't ever see that in future release.
HMMM , the next version of windows will be called Windows 12 ! not windows 8 , it was kinda under dev and they revealed it
