I'm split between the Dell Studio 15 and Sony Vaio F Series. Ignore the screen size and price and all that stuff, which one should I get? Vote! Spec for each is listed below: Dell Intel Core i5 520M Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM 320GB 5400rpm HDD 512MB ATI Mobility RADEON HD 4570 Graphics Card Sony Intel Core i5 520M Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 4GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM 320GB 5400rpm HDD 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 310M Actually, the only difference is the RAM and Graphics Cards! (And of course the looks and brand repuation etc..) Get voting!
How about the price? Is there no difference between these 2 notebook? Based on RAM and graphic card specification, Dell Studio 15 have better specification. - Dynashox -
There's only about £10 difference in price so it really doesn't matter to me! I always thought Sony had a reputation of being a more sought-after and premium brand?
I guess that is depend on who you asked the question then. Some people are going for the brand name, while others are looking at values for their money. - Dynashox -
OP, are you sure you got the RAM right? I'm making the same comparisons right now, and I see: Dell: 4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz Sony: 4GB (4GBx1) DDR3-SDRAM-1333
I've checked and I'm still seeing it with Dell on 1333 and Sony on 1066. I'm from the UK, perhaps it varies by country for some reason.
Well I guess it wouldn't surprise me that there are country differences, on second look I see that you say you can get a VAIO F with an i5? But I only see the VAIO F being offered with the i7. (USA)
I've been looking under customisable models. They do an i3 version with the option to upgrade to an i5 and an i7 version. I bought the Sony i5 I'm afraid just because I think they look gorgeous, and I've worked hard these last few years so I think I deserve a gorgeous laptop
I vote for DELL WHY??? Because everything ICT hardware in my office form from server into desktop user, all DELL Their services support very tip top...
