same key phrase across the whole site? or different key phrase of different pages?

    Hi there friends

I'm keen to hear people's thoughts on a couple of questions:

    1. whether it's better practise to optimize the whole web site to a couple a key phrases or to use different phrases on different pages?

    2. if page index.html is optimized to "red widgets" and contacts.html is optimized to "blue widgets" what page will Google (or other search engines) display on it's SERP when a user searches for "blue widgets".

    Thanks for you ideas.

Do not thinks site. Think PAGE.
A page of a site is what gets ranked and traffic. Not the entire site.
Each individual page should be optimized for whatever keyword phrase you are going after ON THAT PAGE. In other words, each page has a different title, different description and different keywords.

    Hope that helps..

    You are welcome..
Sure, please read my first reply.
Not trying to be a smart axx, but the point I tried to make is important.
If you can't understand it then chances are others will not be able to and I will have to try to say it in a different way..If its possible:)
