    i had a listing added by them once
    feels good to know yahoo think your site up to its standard :)
    have you had any good media covergae lately?
    my site was added to yahoo (i believe) becuase it got an article on a popular "web geek" blog and yahoo directory rep saw it?

    Hey, thank you guys! Yes well I haven't paid anything, and was the last to know that my blog was listed by yahoo lol. Anyway, does it affect anyhow the PageRank or SE rankings?

    To become an editor for DMOZ, you have to suggest a few sites for entry for the section you want to be an editor for. Your site was probably added in that way.

    getting listed on yahoo directory certainly helped a rival of mine to page one pf the SERPs for several keyword combinations, they where nowhere before that

    Not randomly. Editors find sites that are relevant to the category. After review, they create a title and description, and add it to the category.

    They have been doing this forever. It's what good directories do.
