I have about 3-4 blogger blogs each giving backlink to my main website but I never see them showing backlinks in google is it because I have added those blogs in the same webmaster account as my main site. The blogs are about 2-3 years old with page rank and 300+ posts can someone please explain why its not showing backlinks its been more then 6-8 months I have added main site links on my blog's footer
Probably not - from memory, my sites (all same webmaster account) show up in Google's backlinks. Google doesn't show all links - especially from social bookmarking etc - but if it indexes a page you will get credit of links.
Google doesn't show all backlinks. Use Yahoo's tool to see if the links from your blog have been seen. siteexplorer.yahoo.com And have you done any backlinking to the blogger blogs? A method I suggest is to write an article for each of your blogger blogs and put a link in the resource box to point to that blog.
As jj1 stated, the LINK: operator AND Google's WMT only show a "sample" of your back links. Just because they are not showing up does not mean they are not being counted. Similarly, just because a link shows up in WMT does not mean it is counted. Google shows nofollow links as well as links from pages known to be under penalty in WMT (both of which do NOT count). They don't want you to know what is counted and what is not. Personally, if I'm using "free" sites to promote a main site, I never use blogger because Google owns it. Between owning the site and Google Toolbar, they likely knew that you owned those sites before you even verified them in WMT. I use wordpress.com and other free sites instead where Google cannot track the IP of the person(s) administering the site. But it's more likely that the pages on the blogger sites where the links appear are not indexed. If they are not indexed then they will not be counted as backlinks. You can check by searching Google for site:yourbloggerpageURL. If you get no results, it's not indexed. You might want to consider building backlinks to the blogger sites as well.
As far as Google knowing the blogs are yours and the web site you're pointing to is your as well, simply create the blogs under a different email account..... and don't use Google anlaytics...
Check your backlinks with this online links checker http://www.backlinkwatch.com/ just enter your websites URL and search for the backlinks.. Google does not show backlinks very well on the query links:yourwebsite.com
Google won't show all your links to 'public'. You might want to use google webmaster tools to see your external links.
Are your blogs purely for providing links to the website? if the blog posts are not indexed, you will not get the link benefit.
If you want the links from those Blogger to be more effective. You have to build unique contents / links for them, otherwise those links from Blogger would be useless. I assume some of those blog may not even being indexed yet.
Google is very smart for giving the backlinks, If you post your link on 1000s of websites than google will count only 15 or 20.
Google doesn't showing all backlinks, my website contain almost 28000 backlinks showing in yahoo but google only showing 190
Google and Yahoo both are having different algorithm so the terms as well. So it is quiet possible to see 28000 backlinks in yahoo and 190 in google. I also noticed that if we check indexed pages in google and change geo location we never see same results. Although it is showing same number of pages now but it is quiet possible that google was having different strategies to calculate the number of pages before.
