Wordpress is the absolute best. I used to use blogger because I was intimidated by using my own scripts but it's not that hard and it can be quite fun doing things yourself.

i believe the spam check is done by a bot, so you can appeal for a manual review

I think what he means - getting domain name and hosting of your own instead of relying on free sites like blogger.

You are in control of your own site if you do that..

I was getting 1000 uniques a day on a blogger blog. Then Google banned my ass and all my fucking traffic. On average a hundred quids worth every day gone just like that!!

Thunmblogger is good for adult traffic, I found out in the end!

If you had read the Adsense TOS/Policies you wouldn't have had that problem, sheesh!

The fact that you create on Blogger says "Cheapskate".

You guys are missing the point. It doesn't matter if you write original articles, it's what your articles are about. Blogger is full of cheap excuses for a landing page. The entire network is bloated with Mesothelioma, Insurance, Forex, Warez, Weight Loss, Health, Acai Berry and Make Money online crappy, repetitive blogs about the same thing over and over again, with the same information just arranged differently.

Honestly, how many more "Tech", "Gadget" "Gaming" and "Movie" blogs can there be online? I have been a member of this forum for over 4 years and I have probably seen 20 original ideas in that whole time and 5 of them were mine.

I mean for pete's sake, don't some of you guys even look around ? If you did you would realize that they are already 15,000 Mesothlioma blogs out there and unless you are a physician with something original and informed to write, yours isn;t going to be any different than anyone elses.

There was a time last year when I thought if I saw one more blog about "blogging", or another "Webmaster's Journey" blog, I was going to hurt someone.

Hardly anyone on Blogger has any imagination. All of the blogs are about the same 15 niches and adsense. It's so ridiculous that they have become known as the spam network. Everyone knows it, and Adwords advertisers and sick of wasting money on crappy content blogs because they don't get a good return.

And Blogger is getting tired of hosting crappy blogs for every cheapskate that refuses to spend one thin dime to start a business, but expects to become the next internet millionaire. The best blogs on blogger, don't have any monetization on them because the people write them because they like it.

I still don't understand how anyone with a computer, cannot come up with $20 to have his own website hosting and domain. The answer is, they can, but they don't even believe that they can be successful that's why they choose the safe mode. No sense in risking their own money towards their success.

That's the attitude of the average Blogspot blogger now and that's why the network sucks.

It's more trouble than it's worth and I wouldn't be surprised if they shut the whole thing down. I would.

too many noobs hoping to get $1 from adsense are using blogger or blogspot, so those blog sites are pretty much full of crap blogs nowadays. They are too cheap to even have their own domains.

I think you're right, that all bloggers would want to get profit from their efforts. But I also would say the same thing with you if they do not do it seriously. Using the free service is also not wrong because Google itself is deliberately provides services for use freely, so the publisher with any level can take part to promote the Google advertisements.

No one is saying it's wrong, after all, this is the real world and people will always try and find an exploit to take advantage of.
I'm just saying that blogger is a crap network now because of the webmasters. The crappy, spam, webmasters have completely ruined bloggers reputation. They have infiltrated it like cockroaches and the only way to get rid of them is to spray the whole place down until they are all dead, or get the message and leave and go somewhere else.

I never said its wrong to use those sites artard. I said its the noobs that are so eager to earn that $0.01 gave blogger and blogspot bad names. All they do is create crap blogs then apply for adsense. Get your facts straight before you talk shit back to me.

Again, copy scape is not the issue.
I don't think the vision of blogger or any blog network was that people would constantly register one affiliate or ad blog after another to the point of where it is now.
I honestly think they envisioned that people would actually blog about something, not just create enough content to generate adsense ads.

When I look through blogger, I see a lot of blogs about causes, humor, politics, yes some porn, and some good help and issue blogs...but then there are the thousands of free MP3 downloads, Buy watches, and Free Wallpaper and Ring tone blogs that are nothing but one solicitation after another. Those are all garbage.
Those people aren't blogging, they are spamming under the guise of blogging..just because it's on a blog platform.

How many movie or tech blogs do the writers actually see every movie that they claim to be reviewing, or actually use every gadget that they write about?
    Not many.
Blogger is a spam fest of reconstituted garbage articles with no real value or any new or engaging information. It's a network of desperate amateurs and it didn't used to be like that.

That's why networks like Typepad, and Wordpress are so strict, because if you leave the flood gates open, this is what you get..a bunch of desperate noobs dropping text link ads and affiliate links in between adsense blocks all over some bull shit article about how great some watch is that they don't even own, not have ever seen.
    It's transparent.Those blogs aren't fooling anyone.

Today's internet user is smarter than they were 2 years ago..they have already been burned by someone and it takes more that just 200 words about Forex to impress them.

At this point, I am sure that there are some quality blogs by some of the DP members out there, but for the most part, blogger has become a haven for amateurs and spammers now.

It's like what My Space is now, compared to what Facebook is now. Blogger has become My Space..and that's an insult to both companies.

If you build enought content online on free platforms there is a chance you will run into this problem. Some topics can become spam once it takes off like a firestorm.

The bottom line is if you are serious about building a business online instead of a hobbie you should be focusing on paid hosting as your money sites and the free platforms to help drive traffic. If the free site gets deleted so be it you have other sites pointing to it.
