From my personal experience I have made a research .
I am on adsense since 2 months and running it on one of my popular site (in sig)

I have found that : Adsense earnings depend on your ad impressions

I come to these conclusion from these : (the days are not consecutive )
Approx. values (exact values not disclosed as against google TOS)

    days impressions clicks earnings
    1 25* 2 0.2*
    2 26* 2 0.2*
    3 2* 5 0.0*
    4 30** 1 1.**
    5 25** 1 0.7*

The data are from the same channel and yes there were no site-targeted ads (cpm ads).. And according to traffic tracking, most are from one country.

I also received a mail from Bidvertiser :
So i think that main conclusion behind pay-per-click campaign is that they pay according to ad impressions..

What do you think of it? Have you ever met with such an experience ?
Please share here your adsense experience/secret..

So let me get this straight. Your big breakthrough idea is that the more impressions (i.e. traffic) you get, the more money you make? DUH.

Or am I missing your point here?

I am telling that if clicks which you get when your page have more impressions will pay you more.. I am not telling about cpm ads.

Hope this is clear to you..:p

I think he said that more impressions and smaller number of clicks make more revenue (value of single click is much bigger).

Anyway, both theories are wrong. :D

I guess all he is saying is that the higher your CTR is the more you get per click.

This is just my thinking and should not be taken seriously but good to think upon.

IF you have less impressions on your page and are getting maybe 2-3 clicks, Google will give you a bigger percentage of the money they earn per click. Why? To make you think, wow, I am making a lot from this, now all I need is more traffic and I'll be even richer! So you drive more traffic in. Now instead of 100 impressions daily, you get 1000 impressions. Your clicks multiply by 10 but your revenue only multiplies by say, 6. Why? Google knows you have a steady website with lots of impressions and is making money. You wouldnt take down there ads now, so they lower the percentage you get from a click.

This is just my thinking, and I'm going to put this into my blog.

I don't see impressions affecting my ppc. Some days I get more from 2000 impressions than 4000, even if clicks are equal.

Cool of you to share your findings! As you can see, some 'strongly' agree and others do not.

Regardless, keep up the spirit of sharing, it comes back 10 fold!

    Hi!

If the thread starter is saying that more traffic increases traffic value i respectfully disagree.

I find that 10k proxy impressions is still low value and low ctr.
I also find that 100 "really targetted" impressions to a resource / information page are usually worth more than above 10k proxy impressions.

I can only think that a particular sites traffic has a particular value that fluctuates based on the quality of traffic.

So i can tell you i have had 26k ad impressions today, i have also been out for a drink and spent more than i earned :) Lots of impression might not actually make you rich ....

    Sorry bout that jackburton :)

The thread starter is right. I learned this 2 months ago with simple mathematics. If my traffic is 100 K and my CPM is $.90 I earn $90 for the day. It's as simple as that. I don't know how clicks figure into the equation since my earnings seem to derive from the traffic. :p
