Well dont you think DP is too strict concerning giving infraction? I think people who make repeated spam posts only that should get infraction and not people who make good posts , then make a couple of bad posts .

I don't see how a comparing DP to a childrens website makes any sense here.

I hate the rep system and the infraction system in some ways. However, I think it's being used to improve the quality of DP and not to just bust balls.

But some people are slow learners it seems. :/

friendster is for ppl that have no life to meet another no life, so do myspace...ppl switch because myspace can do anything friendster do, even better

DP is a place for business...as long as it is useful, rules won't scare ppl away. Anyway, if you can't follow just these little rules, what kind of man you are

I think the mods have a very difficult job to do and I think they have to do what they have to do .....................they I believe are trying very hard to have a site 'spring cleaning' ................ a necessary job that is needed now and again......everything will then settle down.

They are doing a great job and in the medium term everyone will benefit

Well the forum's popularity depends on the members .. More people contribute , the forum becomes better .. But giving many members infraction everyday is not good , this will make people making less post and some will even dont bother to make any post .The first thing to be a successful forum is to be a bit lineant .

THe only decrease to come in DP is the leaving of the whiners, crybabies, and other such children.

And they will be replaced, happening now as happened in the past and will continue into the future, with adults who come to learn and share.

And how anyone can compare a webmaster forum to two non-forum sites that are overrun with kiddies is beyond me.

Hey, that is an idea for this forum.
If you have a myspace account, you can't join.

That is true man.Every body has complaint about infraction which is i think is not good as it is for everyone. It would be better to post according to rules and nothing -ve you will get.

And comparing DP with myspace or friendster is also not good:mad: .DP is far professtional then ???

I think if a good poster makes a bad post then he/she should get double infraction for downgrading the quality...

A board that shares revenue should have some type of restrictions otherwise people would just post anything to make money. Some get infractions innocently but we all have to learn. The forum have so much valuable information that it will continue to grow in my opinion.

Some of the infractions are retarded, but hey, life goes on.

To answer OP, no, i dont see DP dying anytime soon. I actually like this place quite a lot, and i've only been here since march.
If someone like myself can become so easily addicted, that means something, because i was by no means a forumite type.

Pfft DP needs to maintain some sense of a professional level. And the infraction system is helping to maintain it.

Many people do business here or research on information for domains, SEO work and other things as well. If you are in a business office, there is a unwritten rulea(well there are even ones that are written) on how one needs to behave in a work enviroment. And when answering a boss or client in such a situation - it usually isnt done with words or phrases as "lol" or "thats a kewl site" or such spammy responses.

One should maintain a business atmosphere even in DP. If caught doing something in a business office that is inappropiate or does not follow office procedure. Trust me one of the staff or boss will put you straight. Why should DP treat you any different?

Infractions are great, no matter how painful it is to see red. Clean up your skills and professional behavior and the infractions will go away in due time.

How about crying over infractions = automatic temporary ban and then when they come back and cry about the temp ban they get a permenant ban.

Answer to your question is No.

Infractions are like warnings, people should learn from mistakes/errors and follow the forum guidelines.

10 points gives you enough room to make posts without being too restricted.

Just don't take infractions personally and continue to contribute to this great forum.
