Do You Let People Know What You Do On The Internet?

Some people keep what they do on the internet a secret, while others brag about it. I'm just curious to hear how the percentile of members here at Digital Point feel about their online job and their work on the internet.

Myself - I don't let friends and such know. I feel that it may be looked down upon even though I make a pretty damn good amount of income from it. I mean close ones and relatives no, but I don't go around bragging about it and I really don't count it as my "job". Its like a hobby that can support me really.

Just wondering how many people let others know of what they do on the net.

My wife knows what I do online, she takes the checks to the bank.

Other than that, I have told people that I have ads on some sites but don't mention that I make $xxxx per month doing it. Some might reply "I want to make me a web site, can you show me how?"

I see no reason to divuldge how much I make or to brag.

 

I used to, but not anymore.

 

I knew the member that said he brags about it would be Nintendo, lol - he's crazy

 

No I never talk to anyone as they think you are 'crazy' if you work on the internet

No point in making them think any different

 

No I dont want to bore anybody.

I tell them but only a few understand what really goes on between me and my computer...

 

Everyone I know is aware of what I do. Why wouldn't they be?

They also know that I AM NOT A COMPUTER TECH! For some reason, people used to call me with their computer problems.

"Rob, do you know how to fix my computer? I'm using Windows 98."

My response is always the same- "Nope! Sorry, I don't know ANYTHING about computers!"

 

Same...seems like everyone does not understand what I'm saying when I try to explain what I do, so I just stopped telling anyone and everyone.

 

I let people know about my directory, everything else here and there ...

 

I tell people about my non-profit/hobby websites, if the subject comes up. I try not to mention that I make some money also because I have noticed that people get suspicious for some reason.

 

I tell people about my hobby sites, because they are generally things my friends already know interest me. I have talked with webmaster frineds about my PPC/affiliate programs etc., but that doesn't get spread outside the webmaster circle.

 

I guess if it comes up then I will tell them what I'm doing. I won't go into much detail about it though.

 

Yes, I do. Except my parents who don't know I make porn sites.

I do to some extent. Except most people just translate it as "he makes web pages"
