    Hey all

Does anyone know of a website that lists all the cheapest places to register domains? Like a price comparison site? There are so many website for registering domains - every time I find a cheap one and register some domains, someone tells me about another place I can get them even cheaper!! :(

Take a look at Globat, Ipower, and Yahoo if you want the cheapest for the first year.

It's going to take someone with time and passion to come up with such a site.

Just checked out domparison.com it's pretty cool, has all the aforementioned registrars on there and a few mega cheap ones i hadn't heard of - has anyone else tried the cheap ones? I'm always apprehensive about cheap registrars I haven't heard of

That's pretty cool, it seems a bit safer than searching on domain registration websites too. My friend once searched for a domain and found it was available, then when he went back to purchase it the next day it had been registered... by the website he'd used to search for it!

On the down side it only compares prices from 4 domain registration websites, which sucks a bit. Plus it only caters for .com .net and .org - that domparison.com site has 8 domain extensions and 10 sites for each

If you truly care about the domain name you register, you'd better be ready
to shell out extra and go with a real domain registrar. Some of those cheapo
ones are actually resellers for actual registrars, and not all exactly have the
connections (both literal and figurative) to register domains in real time.

Has anyone used iplox or ipower? They seem to be high on most of the lists but I've not used them before

I personally use domainsite.com ... it's only 6.99 a year, they accept paypal, and everything is set up INSTANTLY. I have over 16 websites registered with them. :)

I also think domainsite is quite good, but they really really need to work on getting better servers, cos their site has had many downtime episodes...

Beware - cheap is not always 'good'
