phpLD Directory Statistics Mod

I have released a mod for phpLinkDirectory 2.0 and 3.0.5+. that allows you to show statistics on the front of your directory relating to the links and categories in the database. You can see what it looks like at http://www.moondirectory.co.uk.

The idea was originally by Jappi at phpLinkDirectory Forums. I have made a few changes in this version.

    * Added Featured Link Count.
    * Replaced Categories and Subcategories with a total category count.
    * Updated HTML to use DIV tags with stylesheets.

You can download the code and source needed to implement in the phpLD Statistics Mod section at DirectorySpy.com

last login or approved/disapproved date. Some directories are not updated for more than a month, in this way submitter can get an idea when it was last updated.

Lol, if you see a directory with 3k pending it makes you wonder how often its updated.

I would like to have a mod that displays a total number of links with google PR X, where X is 1 to 10.. this may not be a mod that is useful for general directories though..

It can be done by getting the modified date of the last link that was approved. However, loopy62 has hit the nail on the head. If there are lots of links pending, then you get a good idea of what's going on.

With a 3K backlog, you're likely to see the directory owner turning the directory paid.

This can be done quite easily. If I write the code, would you use it on one of your directories?

Until I've developed a blacklist mod for all the spam my directories attract, image verification stays on! :) Thank you for the featured link purchase though.

sure, I would use it for our phpLD directory list.
What would be nice is to display # links for up to PR X, where X is the maximum google PR of directory listings.
    Thanks,

Wouldn't it be better to have

    X number of PR0 sites
    X number of PR1 sites
    X number of PR2 sites
    etc?

Almost. but the mod that I would like to have would not display PR7 to PR10 because there are no listings with those PRs in the directory. So it would display PR 0 up to PR X, where X is the max PR of directory listings. hope it's clear.

    Thanks David.

I am extremely sorry to say that I sold the template, but it was to a really good person here on DP and I know he'll promote it and I wish him well. All complete with MODs too.

So I will have to redesign myself a new directorydump, but as a stipulation of the sell, I wanted to be able to keep the template as a 'showing' for potential clientel to see.

Thanks for the kind words David ;)

    Rob

When I code, I do it right the first time around. All I'd have to do is change a single character.
Also with me, there will obviously be admin controls involved, which I will code probably tomorrow after I finish up with the three clients I have slated for the weekend. so you'll be able to set it to only check for pr 1,2,3,4,5 etc.. etc..

However, this is something LittleEarner said he would make for you guys/girls, so I don't step on anyones feet.

Just remember though, all of my MODS are available, but they also come with a pricetag.

    Regards,
    Rob

I'm happy to do it for free, but it would not come with an admin control panel. It would be a mod similar to the one offered at the start of this thread. The disadvantage of releasing it for free, is no-one tells me if they use my stuff! :)

But I do have 2 other mods that I am working on...

One of the reasons why there is a pricetag on my MODs is because they are ALL admin driven, which requires modifications everywhere. However, the end result is, well, a picture is worth a thousand words, so... http://www.directorydump.com/tmpimages/phpLDTemplateSite-cpanel.gif

I may just be a little too into phpLD hahahaha ;)

The reason why there is no price tag on my mods, is because they are not as complete as yours are!

Clearly there's room for us both. :)

Indeed. I value guys such as yourself because you also assist in the effort to help further phpLD.

If you've ever seen some of the modifications I have had to do on some of these directories....you would probably pass out. I sure as hell felt like it at one point or another while working on them. hahaha
People do have great ideas, but lord the complexity of said ideas goes well above and beyond the boundaries! I cannot list the sites due to them being clientel(a downside), but I can pretty much do anything these days in phpLD given the proper communications, specs and time ;)

Do you do the web stuff full time? I do it all in my free time. I do have a day job. :)

I completely understand about clients though. :)

Web is a full-time job for me. phpld has, in the past 3 months, take up about 75% of the time.

The amount of pressure related to being your own boss vs that of corporate has definately left me at times feeling i should just go back to a 9 to 5. The hours, days and nights are longer. The pressure is 5 fold.
