I am now starting to build a serious blog subjected to some topics. I plan to do promote one or two affiliate marketing there and also do Adsense. The question is, when exactly I have to do SEO and seek for traffic since I just started and my blog have less than 20 posts and I'm not updating it everyday. I just update it when I get some idea what to write and it is usually twice a week.
You should focus on SEO from the moment you start, or else you will have to go back and update them later - which will be a lot of work the more and more posts you make. Its quick and easy if you use sometyhing like wordpress and the platinum SEO plugin. You can start building backlinks at anytime, the sooner the better. They will take some time to get picked up anyway, although if you are concerned about your site being engaging to your visitors then concentrate on making more posts now. Traffic building will be an ongoing exercise.
I think, with 20 posts, you can start SEO immediately. It doesn't matter if you don't add a post every day. 2 or 3 quality posts a week is enough.
If I start SEO immediately, let say.. link building, what is the best method to do it? Is is by build links to my blog or just each and every posts?
the thing is google will index your site non-optimized and you will get no traffic. the sooner you optimize your site and get relevant backlinks to keywords you are aiming for, the better chance google will come around and see your site as relevant. in summary .... do it ASAP
You should start thinking of SEO as soon as you start to design your website. This way you would not have to effect major changes to your website when the time of need comes. You should however refrain from submitting your site to search engines before you have live content.
SEO starts even before you make the site, you need to complete your keyword research to see if you can get enough organic traffic for the niche. I will start link building as soon as my first post is up. I start directory submissions only after I have 10+ posts on the blog.
SEO, is the Search Engine Optimization, when you create blog or website you can start SEO for your blogs and site
You should start considering SEO even before choosing your domain name Many factors affect SEO: keywords in domain names, keywords in post titles, keyword density in article posts, keywords in descriptions etc etc Best of luck Steve
Awesome answer! You should have been considering your on-site/on-page SEO all along. It's never too early to begin building links either.
There is a huge amount of factors affecting good SEO. I have a free resource site just for SEO beginners Check my homepage from my profile
SEO starts the second you want to build a site then comes traffic and then comes monetizing. You want to monetize first then worry about SEO and Traffic. It does not work that way. 2 to 3 posts a week can be okay for your seo purposes but it is not enough for traffic. You need to blog at least once pref 2 somes 3 times a day to make a small blog successful. If you blog 2 or 3 times a day you will start seeing your pages being indexed that same day you post, which is what you need.
It is completely up to you when you want to start SEO techniques. However, don't expect too much traffic until you do
SEO Website Design starts when you are designing the site. Please note: your design should really be geared toward the end-user and not centered around the search engines.
You don't need to ask about the time that when and where to start, but just you need to to consider doing SEO from the very beginning. Things like these- make easy design, don't put duplicate contents, daily update etc.
Yes, start SEO NOW. There is no reason to not optimize your tags on the site, write rick content, and tag your images correctly. Do this from the beginning as it really does not take any more time to do it correctly.
It's never too late to start SEO'ing your site. But without much of content it would be a sheer waste of time..
