Good news...ezine article page 1....Bad news...bottom of page 1

Just when I was about to give up on driving my ezine article to page 1 (with 2400 local / 3600 world monthly searches according to google adwords tool), I wake up today, and its parked at the bottom of page 1 google. That's after the article sat on page 3 for what seems like an eternity.

The article was published on Jan. 9th, 2010, but after an initial surge of a few hundred views--the page went to ezine article heaven to live out its days among the other vast number of ezines that litter the web. I recently decided to try to pump life into the article by:

    1. blog commenting
    2. social bookmarking (used onlywire)
    3. pinged article after some social bookmarking with onlywire
    4. used snipsly to throw a few links at the site

Well what do you know, I noticed that the article is on page 1 google , but it is at the very bottom of the page. Yes, I cleared all my cookies and I was signed out when I checked the 3 word keyword with google. I was fooled into thinking I was on first page google with some previous long tail keywords; that's before I found out that all cookies and browsing history should be cleared first.

I have two questions for anyone who may know the answer:

    1. What should I do to get the article to no. 1, 2, or 3rd position?
    2. Can I expect any traffic at all for the 10th position?

I usually skim the first ten entries in the search, sometimes page 2. Usually, though, the top five are the most relevant and I go to them first if it appears relevant. So that's a hard question to answer.

Wow. I knew top spot garnered lots of clicks - rarely do I avoid the first result, and only if the preview tells me it's irrelevant. But almost 50% of traffic - that's stunning.

Take your article and convert it into a document and publish it to document sites with a backlink to your EZA article. You'll be number one soon enough.

Eventually - you want this snazzy thing called a "Web Log" (aka BLOG). Ideally - you want that ranked well in place of your articles.

    Good luck.

Use high PR back link packets and outsource the back linking. You will be surprised at how fast you achieve top 3 position.

Hi, can you name a few good Doc sites? Currently I'm using Docstoc, not sure if it's the best. So I just link back to my main article? Will it help?
    Thanks!

Scribd/DocStoc/DocShare - just google around and you'll find a lot.

Build some backlinks to your EZA article and it will improve in rankings. However - your end goal is to have a money site for your niche/product that you want to focus on turning into an authority site.

    Thanks!
So do you purely link back to your article, or you have 2 links?
1 to LP and 1 to article?
