Have a question on paying someone for directory submission

    Hi All,
I've done a small amount of research, but not enough, on paying someone to submit my web site to directories.

I did find a couple on Google, and also think I saw some posts on this forum, but not sure.

Has anyone paid for directory submissions with good results?

    Any referrals gratefully appreciated

    Dean

I have paid some people to do submissions on the forums and they did a good job. I would just search in the services forum for those people and start with the ones with the most posts. That way you can read user reviews.

    Heres my recommendation though.

Also there are just as effective automatic submissions. *cough cough

Do these submissions generate much traffic directly? I submitted to 50 directories or so, and have not got a single visitor

From some directories you will get visitors from others maybe not, a lot depends on traffic etc etc

Directories need marketing just like most products .... they don't just sit there and evolve they are a product that has to be developed to enable them to become a niche services provider in the given vertical market which they operate and focus within

These days submission to directories bring incoming links rather than traffic. How many times in the recent months have you visited directories to find a website?.

For your future websites, please do a research on the keywords being used to find websites similar to yours. Then register a domain with that keyword (try singular, plural). This would naturally rank higher and would bring more traffic.

Paying someone to do directory submissions is really a choice. Most people get a list and do them on their own but if you really don't have the time or would like to focus your time somewhere else, I would recommend paying someone.

Usualy a good directory submission service would allow you at least two different titles and descriptions to help vary the content so it does not look too spammy.

As for price it really depends on how much you want them to do and how good their lists are... Someone can tell you they will submit to 1,000 directories but the reality is many of those sites are abandoned and your link will never appear.... shoot for around 400 directory submissions from a decent submitter and you should be able to pay somewhere around $100 to $150.

They won't give you much direct traffic but they will help out your Search results a lot!

Real traffic would take a while to come from directories because the right people will need to visit the directory, navigate to the right category and click to the link of your site.

Listing is one thing, the other thing would be how appealing your description is to the surfer enough for them to wait to visit your site.

The key I see about listing of directories is so that popular search engine would spider your site. You probably see the traffic coming in within the next few months.

If you want immediate traffic, you probably have to buy ad spots in Adwords or permanent links on websites which offers contents or services.
