Well, it depends on their thanks button. That's reputation. Reputation can make you decide whether a person really offers value or not.

Now, do you want quantity offers or quality offers? What gives you results?

Obviously, quality. If you can't offer a quality platform, no use.

It's your choice. You can apply a $10.00 fee if you want & let people know only quality offers can be placed. This way you restrict those who can't deliver quality results by moderating them. Results means reputation.

People think: if you want cheap, go to dp forums. I couldn't help telling you the same. People think this is the best place for hiring cheap writers and stuff. Quality stuff comes at quality prices. Most people don't realize the importance of quality. Your call.

Well to be honest, I doubt we would ever do away with free listings in B/S/T... I'd rather go the route of anything you pay for would be optional. If there was a listing fee, it would be optional and people could then filter based on that (and other things). If you only want to see paid listings, then you don't have to see non-paid ones for example.

A fee would just bring about more Scammers/Fraudulent Behavior because the minute that listing fee would go in place people would start listing a bunch of junk offers using a stolen CC to gain spots some legit sellers can't afford.

Huh? You could argue that about premium members too and people using stolen credit cards to get their WTS threads highlighted, but that has just not been the case.

This can be countered with things like AVS, cc BIN & IP checking & phone verification (maxmind sells this cheap). Or just accept paypal and make members with <50 itraders wait for 48 hours before approving the transaction. Paypal weeds out most suspicious transactions within 24 hours. Their security is very good and has improved a lot compared to a few years ago.

Yea I might have not have said that right..

What I mean is if there is a listing fee for All sales like omit was requesting. People would start creating accounts get the post count up high enough. Then use a Stolen CC to Pay for a bunch of Listings in the B/S/T like for a short amount of time, and then scam who ever buys the site from them by not delivering anything. Most likely because they don't own the site in the first place.

All of that can be easily bypassed use bot computers close to the sellers location, and purchasing VoIp's numbers from a location near victims ( guy that owns CC ) location.

But this is most likely never going to happen. Because I doubt many people will use that method to possibly get a few $$ off from someone. They would be better off getting a job.

This is easier said than done. And what are you talking about? What seller? I thought you were talking about paying DP for the listings! VOIP numbers can be identified and disallowed. Besides DP isn't selling anything unrecoverable like a tangible product or time/effort so some risk of fraud is acceptable.

Is the ability to make private bids only given to premium members?

The auction feature is very cool but I don't like the fact that if someone posts in a thread that thread isn't bumped at the top of the page as in usual forums. The marketplace is the most visited forum and some threads get lost very fast.

For the auctions that choose to display realtime Google Analytics data, we are now showing a few more charts. You still get a chart for visitors and pageviews, but now you also can see a pie chart for traffic sources and a different pie chart for countries the visitors to the site reside in.

See this auction for an example.

Yep... fixed. Forgot about Firefox needing a double float there to render properly. :)

How about including listings without a domain in the search results if the search attributes don't involve PR, Alexa or any other things related to the domain?

Many sellers may choose to give out the URL's only privately.

Definitely not. If you aren't going to tell what the domain is, it's not going to be included.

Made some internal changes to the marketplace system (made it more efficient for SQL queries so it should be faster). It had the unintended effect of making threads pushed to the top (first 2 hours and last 2 hours for premium members, and last hour for non-premium) actually get shown at the top of any page in the forum. I think I like it better that way anyway, so going to leave it.

So auctions that are ending soon (as an example) will show at the top of any page in the forum (page 2 for example).
