Hi everyone I switched over to the Mac 6 months ago and I have to say it is the best thing I ever did. What is YOUR opinion? (If you are thinking about it, Go for it!!!)
Ok could talk all day on this but here are the main points. 1. Software is awesome. I use - Keynote - Garage Band and screenflow daily 2. Speed and userbility are far superior. 3. Virus's. 95% of the virus are made for window users. I was simply sick of my last computer crashing. What about yourself?
Mac is way professional solution, looks way batter, but it's more expensive. Also I heard somewhere that Mac is mostly made for multimedia, so I think that I could never switch to Mac, I'm just hooked to PC and Windows.
Well, mac basically sucks because replacing any parts is too expensive. Alot of programs don't work on macs. Programs for mac.. they are expensive. PC then.. you can get basically everything for free if you know some good places. Maybe possible for mac users too but atleast it's much harder. PCs are cheaper, windows (and linux) is easier to use than a mac. Macs are meant to be used by some old people or by people with not so much talent with computers. and they're designed to be very easy to use. That's good but i want more possiblities.
pc with both XP and linux is unbeatable...mac is just a fashion accessory IMO especially the new IPad its useless to me completely...
I love Mac but to be fair I also love PCs. I'm running a Macbook Pro which has OS X and Windows XP on it. Mac is friendlier, smoother and more intuitive, while Windows is of course better for program compatibility and gaming
I'm stuck in between. Right now I am on a Mac running Windows XP in VMWare Fusion. It's the best of both worlds. I LOVE Coda for the Mac - http://www.panic.com. I do about 75% of my development in Coda. I use Flux for building sites - http://www.theescapers.com. I still have my PC for the heavy lifting like video editing and gaming.
I am with you, here. I like to have the huge choice in hard- and software using a PC with Windows (or increasingly Linux). And I like not being dependend from the Apple Marketing department (which is very restrictive) , but I think that Windows only works well, fast and secure if you have the knowledge and time to configure it, while the Mac runs without having to configure anything.
OH, a PS here - While I prefer Apple for everyday and Windows for gaming; I do hate Apple as a company. One of their dodgy old Macbook Pros burnt my hand (fucking BLISTERED it and left a scar, one of the old models that was exploding and shite) and they wouldn't do anything about it. Apple also discriminate against smokers in the US (they've started voiding their warrantees!) I think if you don't have the money to blow on repairs and replacements, or you want a solid company backing your machine, that Microsoft/Windows is definitely the way to go
both has their own advantage but I'm gonna have to go for pc because mac usually overprices stuffs and not all software can run on mac as of now. But if you're up to photo editing mac is the better choice.
I like laptops, but not specifically mac. If I were to choose between both of them, I will choose the desktop.
As a former PC user, I have to say, I absolutely love my MacBook. I don't think I'll be buying a PC any time soon, if ever again.
