Are the DMOZ editrors truly at the switch?

I have several sites, some of which are considered among the most important in their category, yet I've never been able to get them accepted in Dmoz, despite submitting them for years. This leads me to believe that there's nobody minding some categories, or that they're people who have a vested interest in keeping the competition out of ODP. Conveniently, they never have to tell you anything. Just a thought!

So you submitted them more than once? How do you think any directory (not just DMOZ) shoudl treat those who can not follow the guidelines that they agree to when they suggest a site? Don't you think that you have a bit of a cheek to complain when you are part of the problem?
    DMOZ owes no one anything.

First of all, I did NOT bombard them with repeat submissions as you assumed. These were several months apart. The problem that I see with DMOZ is that its people at large that act as editors, not DMOZ itself.

By the way, you sound like the Wizard of DMOZ with your "DMOZ owes no one anything". I's not about owing anyway, it's about knowing!!!

Really dumb thing to do. You have no one to blame but yourself. Why did you submit more than once? Why did you deliberatly break the guidleines you agreed to?

Why are you expecting anything from DMOZ? What does DMOZ owe you or any webmaster?

If people could follow a simple instruction it would not be necessary.

This is correct, DMOZ sole purpose should be to make money for it´s senior editors. Are you people stupid, do you think editors "volunteer" for free?

I don't appreciate the tone used by some of the members of this forum. If you have anger issues, get therapy! Nobody will ever respond "yes, you're right" when you insult them. As far as I'm concerned, unless someone wishes to debate things in a civilized manner, I'm not going to participate further in this discussion.

Sadly fastreplies and gworld both have very large chips on their shoulders, they can't get their sites listed in DMOZ and it tears them to bits. Sad too that means that sensible discussion often goes out the window because of them. Report teh posts before you go.

Thanks, Anonymously, but let's not forget Agent000, who immediately set an offensive tone to this thread.

Agent000 continually keeps telling us that he is not a DMOZ editor and so must have picked up information on here. But if editors overstep the mark report us too.

It is funny that you are still trying to paint listing in DMOZ as a great prize and claim that people complain about corruption DMOZ because they can not get listed while every one knows that you can buy a DMOZ listing for max $100 in many freelance site.:D

In did, if they could, we would be living in a perfect world but because some of them don't,
it would be our obligation as a society to help them out and to point them in right direction.

    Don't you agree?

I submitted a site back in 2003 and still no luck. I submitted several others over the past few years with no luck. DMOZ is the worst site for approving sites. I have never submitted any site more than once and they were all about selling electronics with no affiliate links or advertising banners. Just don't get it.

That's exactly what I was getting at, before these characters came out with their insults.

I just gave up on that, but when I used to be an editor I made sure I list sites accordingly. I did e-mail a few people but luckily was not harrassed nor threatened instead a thank you response was sent.
