I would use a service like Escrow.com. The fees are reasonable and you guarantee yourself you get paid!

No, you can not cancel the transfer once you authorize it, even if he doesnt pay you.

The only way to protect yourself is to utilize and escrow service such as escrow.com or sedo.com ... godaddy auctions also provides a similar service.
It will cost you but you can split the fees with the buyer because he will be protected as well.
(If they hate the idea of escrow it probably means they wanted to scam you)

Ive also heard that Western Union is a red flag for scams.

Second with him. I would be a high risk for trade online without using Escrow system. It would be a high chance that you will not get paid after the domain transfered, more than 80%. Thus you cannot cancel the transfer in anyway. I would recommend you deal the rest 200 Euro via Escrow. Trying to convince buyer to use Escrow, telling him he would be protected and a guarantee of getting the domain after the payment made.

I had a bad experienced with Western Union and I would avoid sending / receiving payment via them like a plaque.

Absolutely don't do the deal if it involves Western Union. They've got a very unsecured and inconsistent system, and scammers know that. Huge red flag.
