I'm only a college student for now and I want to build up a web portfolio. I have had some work with a few clients before and made several layout designs. However, they are very artistic and not really company type layouts. I was wondering if anyone knew any sites with briefs of professional work for companies. Something like the industry standard briefs you would get if working in a company. Or maybe someone has a few briefs they can share? Any responces much appriciated.
You can involve in open source projects to get the know-how and learn how to work in a team. This would be a good reference point as well.
hi LuBnA , head over to 99designs.com and see some of the contest there. Checkout their briefs, not all of them written on a professional manner but i think it'll get you grab a hang of how client briefs look. Of all these years freelancing for Web ( and User Interface ) Design, i see so many briefs and i think there's no standards.. well i guess its suffice to say that not all clients would have a good understanding what they want and how to approach designer to get what they need ( though quite some of them write good specifications )
Thank you! This is very useful, there re lots of briefs on there i can use for practice and maybe even submit one or two if they're not too bad Thanks to everyone else who helped too, its much appriciated!
