I dont think, this might ever happen to Google. They are far more better in rankings and SERPS, also they have too many followers around the world. So it seems difficult for Bing to take over google.

No way that Bing will replace Google, ever.
I wouldn't even hear about Bing if it hasn't been default search engine in IE 8.

To replace, if at all happens it will take a long time...
But, yes, definitely Bing is picking up slowly, as per my logs (of two sites).

Again, the only way for Bing to win this war is by partnering with Lady Gaga, Lilo and Paris.

Never by Bing.... Facebook will take over internet. Eric Schmidt (CEO Google) needs to think over a hostel takeover strategy for Facebook if he ever would ask me. I am sure they already had some friendly exploratory negotiations but Facebook plays hard to get.

Probably right on here. G has tried to purchase and take over everything else and I don't think the will be able to do a facebook clone that would take over.

Not any time soon. Google has good people in place, share add revenue and are advancing with cloud computing. They have also been funding quantum computing research. Their appeal is not going away in my opinion.

I'm afraid Facebook's founder has a higher ego than Google boys. You can read "I'm better than them Google boys" all over his forehead. I doubt he will ever sell. I know he will give Google a run for its money soon.

I just cant see Google being replaced anytime soon. Also think about it for a minute in regards to Facebook. Why does the avg person login to facebook? It's to see what there friends just messaged them about, or to post some jibberish crap on there wall, or to attend to there farm in farmville, its NOT to search online for anything. IMO when someone wants something, or needs to know something, there will always be that little thing that triggers in their brain ' google it '.

It's exceedingly unlikely that Facebook will ever be able to compete with Google in the internet search field.

For starters, ads on social networks aren't working out too well; Facebook hasn't even been able to successfully monetize its core product. (Not to mention the fact that any other 'revenue enhancement' that they try to implement is met with resistance from their user base.) Now, if ads on Facebook barely work right now, how would launching a hugely ambitious and ad-revenue-driven search engine make sense?

Another point: Privacy. Google is far more 'anonymous' than Facebook, and yet privacy concerns are commonplace. Would anybody really want their 'real' name and identity connected with their internet searches? Even if internet searches were possible on Facebook, and even if their search algorithm was better than Google, the question remains...

Lastly, Facebook, as a company, seems to be rather poorly-directed. Senior Executives have been jumping ship at an alarming rate. "...there has been a steady stream of senior executives surrounding Zuckerberg who've exited the company over the past three years. If there were one or two, you could chalk it up to someone's personal situation or 'pursuing new opportunities.'

When there are 13 departures, it's fair to ask what are they running away from. Co-founders Dustin Moskovitz, Chris Hughes, Andrew McCollum, and Eduardo Saverin; COO Owen Van Natta; CFOs Gideon Yu and Mike Sheridan; Marketing VP Matt Cohler; President Sean Parker; CTO Adam D'Angelo; VP of Product Development Doug Hirsch; VP of Sales Tricia Black; and VP of Engineering TS Ramakrishnan. Mark Zuckerberg is the common denominator." (from: http://seekingalpha.com/article/176141-facebook-s-dual-class-shares-another-reason-to-avoid-this-company")

Suffice it to say that I highly doubt that Facebook will ever become a serious threat to Google's core business.

I think no search engine can replace Google, Google made its root very deeper in internet. And anything everywhere in this digital world, google can be found in any of the way.
If something terribly happens to all the servers of Google and can't replace or resolve the problem, then Bing might try to compete equally.

Hi ... I doubt if Bing will replace the big G, anytime soon, but maybe. As I write, hundreds, if not thousands, of software engineers are working on besting the big G at its own game. So far, no one has found the magic code, but someone will. There's too much money at stake to dissuade investors, bad economy or not. As long as investors pour money into development, there's a good chance the big G will have to learn how to compete, not dominate. As well, the big G will face anti-trust suits, sooner than later. These suits will distract and eat up billions of dollars. Even if the big G wins the lawsuits, it will be left wobbling. This is when the competitors, seeing billions of dollars of revenue at stake, will emerge, with much force. The big G will find a place, a lessor top search engine or one of many top search engines, who knows; this is the history of technology and commerce: improve, overtake and replace.

a survery showed that bing is better than google. The survey did not show the people what search engine they are using but just showed them the results. Bing was first place, google second and yahoo last. I use bing though in specific queries as its better than google sometimes in this. And bing is defo better than google in searching images.

But bing will never replace google as its all about google's perception that there engine is the best.
