    Dear Friends,

I would like to share one of my experience with you all, I hope this will be helpful for your SERP projects.

I had worked for a site for past 30 days and Last night, I got it to #3 on Google, It has about 8,630,000 competitors pages. I had recorded what I have done. Here are the approached which I applied, all these things are spread over 30 days. (The site is about 1 years old, when I started the site sat on 84th place on Google)

    • 50 DOFOLLOW Blog comments
    • 100 Article submissions to 25 Article Directories
    • 70 Forums Postings (Irrelevant)
    • 50 Social Bookmarks
    • 200 Profile links on PR4+ domains

Now, I am a happy man. The most helpful approach for me was 200 profile links under PR4+ domains. Till I implement that approach, I was on second page, was sitting on 15th place, After implementing those 200 profiles links, I jumped to number 3 on Google. I am really happy now and I belive my experience help others too,

    Thanks,

Those tactics might work for a less competitive keyword(s) but are pretty spammy and generally will not work for anything somewhat competitive.

Thanks for sharing, I believe 'number of competitor' pages is a flawed way of measuring competition. Did you find out how many of those profile links are actually indexed?

Yes, I had checked the profile links, most of them are not indexed, but what I feel is, google might have seen those things but not showing the INDEX PAGE for us. Due to that reason only the ranks had gone up. What do you say? :)
