Hey guys, I'm new here and was wondering, does it have any influence to your SEO wheter your site has a .com, .net, .info or any other thing? Thanks alot.
Generally speaking there should be no difference between these TLDs. However some people complain it takes more time to rank .info domains. Google doesn't like .info domains because they're heavily abused by spammers for their cheap price. Just take a .com or .net and you will be 100% fine. .com, . net, . org are equal for me. . info is slightly inferior and I try to avoid it. It's cheap for the first year but if you're running it in the long term the price is the same as .com.
Yes, you will be perfectly fine. NET ranks as good as COM in Google.com Hopefully your main competitor doesn't have the .com and it's just a parked domain.
I can confirm domain tld has nothing to do with SEO. You can get your site ranked high in almost common tld (com bet biz org info) if you do understand SEO enough. However, .com has an advantage over others tld as easy to remember for peoples. Regarding to .info as zexy mentioned about bias toward this tld. I am not sure about this bias. I have seen some .info site got ranked high in medium competitive keyword but in rarely time. In my opinion, the bias may be exists but the main problem is domain age. .info has just available for a few years ago. Too bad, since it is very cheap in the first year, then many webmasters abused them for spamming site / MFA sites and that's why the bias may be exist.
IMHO .com is best but .net and .org are perfectly fine too. A lot of .info domains are spam, but i doubt search engines will think all .info domains r spam and rank them like that. BTW whats up with all these co.cc and co.tv domains ? How are they doing lol
It doesn't have any influence in SEO, but it has influence on the traffic... .COM are easy to remember, so you have a greater chance for returning visitors
