If you website can be searched easily in google, do you still care about your ranking in alexa? I am also not sure what alexa based on.
uhm, i'm sure if your site get good place in Google search for competitive keyword, your alexa will fly high soon . Alexa base on how many people with alexa toolbar visit your website. But as i know, alexa just update so if your website place their widget on, every impression count
I have never cared about Alexa ranking as long as my site is ranked well in major search engines not just Google. Alexa is an old fashion way to estimate the site value and gives me nothing. However, most sites with high Alexa ranking (Lowest number) are likely to have a good ranking for major keywords already. Alexa does collect information from its toolbar. Everyone who has installed the toolbar will help Alexa collect the info. Alexa Toolbar = Google Toolbar = Not much different.
Alexa is based on how much traffic you get to your site, the lower your alexa number, generally the more your site is worth when you want to try and sell it.
When people try to advertise on your site or buying your site, Alexa rank is one of the factor people will look at.
Alexa is a good tool in analyzing a site as it gives you an estimated overview of how many visits a site gets, which depends on other sites linking to the site in question. If your site is listed in google with somany links, then you rank higher in alexa.
Alexa is completely irrelevant to where a site lies in the search engines/google. It is also very easy to manipulate the data, in much the same way that article views are....... So for me, no - I couldnt care less what alexa ranking is for any of my sites (several of which are #1 in google)
So true. It is too easy to cheat your alexa rank in a short mean of time. but it is not so easy to cheap your Google PR : )
Google doesn't update their page rank so often as Alexa does. Alexa is still one of the best online tracker and they have updated their system a lot recent days. it's really a tough job to get your site under 100000 and keep it there. If you are not below 100000 you will not be shown Graphs. You can have ideas about site's visitors where they are coming from, Downstream, Upstream country ranking ( which is a important factor for Web Advertisers) and now a days they are showing your site's keyword standing. I love their stats.
