What do you think of this story of a Lebanese man charged with sorcery and sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia is scheduled to be beheaded on Friday. http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/meast/03/31/saudi.arabia.sorcery/index.html?hpt=T2 According to his lawyer, Sibat, who is 48 and has five children, would predict the future on his show and give out advice to his audience. He later went to Saudi Arabia to perform the Islamic religious pilgrimage known as Umra. He was then arrested by Saudi Arabia's religious police (known as the Mutawa'een) and charged with sorcery while visiting the country in May 2008. Sibat was then put on trial, and in November 2009, a court in the Saudi city of Medina found him guilty and sentenced him to death. On March 10, judges in Medina upheld their initial verdict, meaning Sibat is once again sentenced to be executed. According to Arab News, an English language Saudi daily newspaper, after the most recent verdict was issued, the judges in Medina issued a statement expressing that Sibat deserved to be executed for having continually practiced black magic on his show, adding that this sentence would deter others from practicing sorcery. Apparently he could not predict he's on destiny and the charge should be dropped, when they cannot tolerate other religion or belief's, then why should we tolerate theirs. Your comment... ...Also tickets for the beheading are on sale tomorrow, PM me for a DP discount..
Pity the date is April 1, nobody believes anything that is reported today, especially something as medieval as beheading for practising sorcery!
Whats not to believe. They commonly eat their own. Its pretty barbaric but I am strangely unaffected. I figure this guy might qualify for a Darwin award.
I seen this story in the news and it has nothing to do with April fools. Is really sickening that this part of the world kills its own people for nothing. Than again i am very pleased that the Christians have abolished the practice of accusing innocent people for witchcraft and no longer is burning them alive. Islam is hundreds of years behind with the current society and it has a lot of caching up to do.
Very sad. I hope this story goes MAJOR main stream. If I'm not mistaken, didn't he conduct his "sorcery" elsewhere?
What is the matter with Arabs? Their lives revolve around religion! (and a bloody stupid religion at that)
Looks like he won't be beheaded after all. Just saw this on CNN http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/meast/04/01/saudi.arabia.sorcery/index.html?hpt=T2
With all the witches, coffee readers, tarot cards, and other fortune teller bullshit that I see on TV everyday..... this could be something that the west should learn from Saudi Arabia.... to protect public sanity...
